VaultInk 0.64.0

Search in Browse Files, a safer Random page!, and phone-to-reader typing and sync (kos25k #13, #15).

• Browse Files has a magnifier: it looks for files and folders by name across the card, and a hit opens or shows in its folder. It says when there may be more.
• Random page! only picks book formats, not notes, logs or the changelog, and a peek no longer lands on the Continue card or in Recent.
• Book info no longer repeats the title or author in the file name.
• The text keyboard has a From phone button: the companion app leaves text on the card, and it is typed in for you.
• The companion app can ask for a LiveSync sync at the next wake.
• Compressed Excalidraw drawings open.

Companion 0.5.0 (separate release): intro screen, About, built-in documentation, file types in the Files list, a Greek Up button that no longer wraps, Google Keep import.

Tried in the simulator and on the computer (host tests, device build). Not tried on a real device, with a Bluetooth keyboard or a wheel.

VaultInk 0.63.0

Focus timer, Habits, Excalidraw, Bluetooth keyboard typing, a better dice seed.

• Home > Plugins has two new tools: a Pomodoro Focus timer (it follows the clock, so sleep does not lose it) and Habits (daily habits with the last seven days, a streak and a total).
• .excalidraw drawings (and the Obsidian plugin's .excalidraw.md) open in a viewer: fit, pan, zoom. Compressed drawings can't be read yet.
• Settings > Connectivity > Bluetooth Page Turner: Bluetooth keyboard typing (off). A paired keyboard types into the on-screen keyboard's line, US and Greek. Not tried with a real keyboard.
• Dice, Sudoku and Random page! now take their seed from the chip's generator mixed with the date and time, the battery percent and the battery voltage.

VaultInk 0.62.0

VaultEUC, an electric unicycle companion, and more Search in Book changes (kos25k #24).

• VaultEUC: third row of Home > Plugins. Connects over Bluetooth to Begode, Veteran, KingSong, InMotion, Ninebot and VESC wheels and shows speed, battery, voltage, current, temperature and more every 5, 10, 15 or 30 seconds, with alarms and ride logs on the SD card. Keeps your wheels. km/h or mph, C or F. Keep-awake and vibration are options, both off. Not for use while riding. Wi-Fi is off while it is open.
• Add a wheel > Demo ... runs a fake wheel, so you can try it without one.
• Search in Book: the gear is on the keyboard screen too, has Search range, and the result lines run closer to the edges.

A dice roller, Library tab order, and more of the Random page! and percent requests (kos25k #15, #18).

• Dice: second row of Home > Plugins. Polyhedral dice (advantage, keep highest, exploding), World of Darkness, Vampire V5 (Hunger, Willpower reroll, Rouse), Chronicles of Darkness, Fate, PbtA, Blades in the Dark, Call of Cthulhu, Shadowrun, Savage Worlds, Year Zero, Cyberpunk Red. Your settings are kept.
• Settings > Library > Tab order: tap a tab, then tap where it goes.
• Random page! also picks comics, XTC books and PDFs. The Author tab shows the percent too.
• Fixed: Home Screen Rows lost the last rows of a saved order, and an upload from the phone could leave a cut-short file.

VaultInk 0.60.0

Library sort by progress, Random page, paper contrast, faster search, default Library tab, changelog out of the recents (kos25k #15, #1, #24, #18, #9).

• Library: with Recent open, a bar with Recent, ↑% (most read first) and ↓% (least read first). Every book shows its percent next to the author. Settings > Library > Open on tab picks the tab it opens on.
• Random page!: a new Home item, off until you tick it in Settings > Display > Home screen items. Opens a random page of a random book and saves nothing; the arrow goes back to your place.
• Paper contrast: first row of Settings > Reader > Paper Button Cycle, a 0 to 100 slider with a preview of every background.
• Search in Book: the gear is at the right edge and result lines fill the row. It starts at your chapter then wraps, shows the last result again for the same words, and Settings > Reader > Search word > Index books lets repeat searches skip chapters.
• The What's New note no longer stays in the Library's Recent list or on the Home card after you read it.
• Fixed: the first Home after an update showed the CrossPoint home instead of VaultInk's.

VaultInk 0.59.0

Search word settings, Info on every file, and Sudoku (kos25k #24, #6).

• Search in Book: longer result lines that fill the row, previous/next arrows further apart and moved left. The search settings are now in Settings > Reader > Search word, with a new Search type: partial match (part of a word) or exact match (whole words). A gear next to the "Search in Book" title picks the type too.
• Browse Files: long-press any file or folder, Info is the last entry, with size and the date and time it was last changed (also for the debug crash files).
• Sudoku: a built-in game, first row in Home > Plugins. Three levels, pencil notes, undo, hints, timer, and it saves where you left off.

VaultInk 0.58.1

A crash fix for Search in Book, and crash logs now say VaultInk (kos25k #24).

• Search in Book: pressing Back on the keyboard before typing anything crashed the device. Back now returns to the reader menu.
• Crash logs start with "VaultInk version" instead of "CrossPoint version".

VaultInk companion 0.5.0

A first-run intro, About, the VaultInk documentation inside the app, and more.

• An intro screen explains what the app does the first time you open it.
• The three-dot menu has About (the tech stack of the app and of VaultInk) and Help, the whole VaultInk documentation to read on the phone.
• The Files list shows each file's type, and the Greek Up button no longer wraps.
• A LiveSync status card, and a button to ask for a sync at the reader's next wake (VaultInk 0.64.0).
• Type into the reader: text you write on the phone appears behind the keyboard's From phone button (VaultInk 0.64.0).
• Import a Google Keep Takeout as notes.

Tried on the computer (unit tests, debug build). Not yet tried on a phone against a real reader.

Needs VaultInk 0.29.0 or newer on the reader; typing and sync from the phone need 0.64.0.

VaultInk 0.58.0

A format filter for the Library, Search in Book that shows the words on the page, and battery drain per hour (kos25k #18, #24, #20).

• Library: a gear button in the header (left of search and refresh) picks which formats are listed: EPUB, PDF, TXT, Markdown, XTC, CBZ. Same list in Settings > Library, with a switch to hide the gear. PDFs are listed now; the list is rebuilt once after the update.
• Search in Book: the words are shaded on the page. A bar at the bottom steps to the previous or next hit; the arrow at the bottom right goes back to where you were, "Stay here" keeps the page. While looking at hits, your reading position, reading time and sync are left alone. Settings > Reader: show it in the More menu or not, and search the whole book or only up to where you are.
• Battery: drain per hour asleep and awake, after a few days of use. What each app draws can't be measured, so it says so.

VaultInk 0.57.0

Faster Search in Book (#24) and a plainer corner lock screen (#22).

• Search in Book reads each chapter's text directly instead of laying it out first, in small steps. Hits appear while it works, Back stops it at once and keeps what it found, and a hit shows "chapter name - N%" (the page when known).
• Corner lock: the screen shows only "Locked" and the owner's name and phone; the hint line and the corner marks are gone.
