Time period of analysis : January 1, 2017 - December 31, 2017
- Illinois had the highest number of Gun Related Violence followed by California and Florida
- Hawaii had the lowest number of such incidents
- There were 75 times more incidents in Illinois than in Hawaii
- Maximum number of incidents happened on January 1, 2017 followed by July 4, 2017 : both days being two of the most celebrated public holidays in the US
- The most recent shooting in the US, the 2019 Dayton shooting, was also on a Sunday!
- Since the likelihood of a gun violence incident to happen on a weekend is higher, there should be more security in public places
- Similarly, on holidays, people should be physically examined for presence of guns when they enter an area accessible to the public
- Basic First-Aid should be taught to the general public, given shootings lead to more injuries than deaths
- Government could invest in training civilians on how to escape from a public place in case of any such threat
