3DFastCraft 4.9.1 keeps an assembly an assembly when it is copied, pasted or duplicated, and
squares a part's angles as you leave Rotate.

Download it, double-click it. Windows 10/11, 64-bit.

New in 4.9.1

Assemblies

  • Copy, paste and Duplicate keep an assembly: a whole assembly copied comes out as a new
assembly of its own ("Kit 2"), with its color and where Reassemble puts each part, also between
two app windows. Each paste is a new one. Duplicate sets it aside as one block, so its parts keep
their places. A part taken without the rest of its assembly still comes out loose.
  • Plate for picked assemblies: with one or more assemblies picked, a Plate box at the top of
the side panel puts every part of them on that plate, hidden and locked parts too.

Selection

  • The object list scrolls to what you pick in the view: one object, or one assembly. A part of
a folded assembly scrolls the list to the assembly's name.

Rotate

  • Leaving Rotate squares what you turned: the turn is worked into the part's shape where it
stands, and its angles read 0 again, as Align to axes does. A generated part keeps its angles,
so its settings can still be edited; a part already turned before Rotate was picked is left alone.

Fixed

  • Align to axes kept the part's plate, filament and anchors: a part on plate 2 used to land on
plate 1 and vanish from the plate on show.

Known limits

  • A part whose turn is worked into its shape — by Align to axes, or by leaving Rotate — can no
longer have Round edges, which needs the cube or cylinder as it was made.
  • Plates are the project's own: a 3MF carries none a slicer reads. Export one file per plate.
  • A kit sprue and corner tabs are an object of their own beside their parts: a slicer's
    Arrange would pull them apart.
  • Corner tabs are read from the first layer: a tab that would run into the part itself is left
off, and a corner gentler than 20 degrees cannot be picked.
  • History tells objects apart from 4.8 on; steps kept before it are not tied to one object.
  • Trim reads the outer edge as seen from above: a part that overhangs is trimmed to the outline of
its widest part, and Z only takes the top and bottom off.
  • Grow / Shrink cannot make anything disappear: a distance more than some part is wide would fold
it through itself, and it is refused.
  • .3dfc projects from before 4.3 are import only: one is imported onto the plate, but its kept
versions do not come along. Save it again to have a 3MF project.
  • The Library and most of its parts are still marked beta: check what a part gives you before
    a long print.
