0.1.0b2 — latest-frame tracking and health

Adds opt-in latest-frame acquisition and immutable tracking-health reports. Slow consumers receive the newest unread frame; expired pending data is discarded. Includes CLI --latest/--max-frame-age/--health and a repeatable read-only benchmark. Sequential reading remains the default.

Validation: 107 tests on each project-local Windows Python 3.10–3.15 environment, real camera frames in both modes, recorded-hand round trips, and all 18 Windows/Linux/macOS CI jobs plus the package build passed. A live 20 Hz comparison showed sequential mode 7.39 seconds behind latest after ten seconds; latest local receipt age was 6.40 ms median and 12.07 ms p95. A separate one-minute camera session passed with clean shutdown. These new live benchmarks contained no hands and do not establish absolute camera latency or skeleton CPU cost.

The Windows engine/driver are unchanged. The package reuses the pinned runtime asset from v0.1.0b1 automatically; no second runtime download is needed for an existing cache. Clean-Windows driver setup and Linux/macOS controller hardware validation remain pending.

Install: python -m pip install --upgrade source-robotics-leap-motion
Try: source-leap --latest --health --duration 10

0.1.0b1 — automatic runtime setup (preview)

Windows beta for the Original Leap Motion Controller, Python 3.10–3.15.

Install the wheel below with python -m pip install <wheel URL>, then run source-leap. The tracking runtime downloads automatically on first use when a compatible service/cache is absent. source-leap setup checks the device and can offer driver setup when Windows identifies a missing driver.

Implemented: pinned resumable downloads, atomic runtime caching, shared private engine leases, crash cleanup, recording/replay, coordinate mapping, diagnostics, and experimental Linux/macOS LeapC loading. The separate runtime ZIP includes the engine and original USB driver files, without GUI applications.

Validation: 86 tests passed on each Windows Python 3.10–3.15 venv; real camera/skeleton capture, installed-wheel client sharing, restart/crash cleanup, and restored-service frames passed. Windows and Linux CI Python jobs passed. Some macOS software jobs passed; remaining hosted-runner jobs are tracked in CI. Linux/macOS real-device and clean-PC driver-only tests remain pending.

PyPI publication is being configured through Trusted Publishing. This is a preview release; full robot teleoperation/control adapters are not implemented.
