0.4.0-amd.dev.25 — FSR SR, Frame Generation and advanced settings

Bounded Windows/Radeon and Linux/NVIDIA qualification is complete with known issues. Earlier published releases remain unchanged. Candidate installation and scope.

FSR and provider choices

  • Adds analytical FSR Super Resolution 3.1.5, Native AA and Frame Generation 3.1.6 alongside DLSS/DLAA and NVIDIA FG. Quality modes and custom resolution scale share the native Video controls.
  • Separates SR and FG provider selection. Tested combinations include FSR SR + NVIDIA FG, DLSS SR + AMD FG, and Native rendering with AMD FG. This candidate uses one FG provider at a time; combined FG providers and native MFG are future work.
  • Adds compatible Windows/Radeon Anti-Lag 2, while retaining independent Reflex Off / On / On + Boost on supported NVIDIA hardware. Low latency remains selectable with FG Off. Anti-Lag 2 is refused on NVIDIA.
  • Safely returns AMD FG to the native presentation route on Off, then permits generation again in a session started with AMD FG. A completely native startup still requests a restart to enable FG. Short Linux recovery samples did not demonstrate the previous persistent Off penalty; full performance comparisons follow release.

Settings and runtime information

  • Adds Upscaling Sharpness below render scale, using one post-upscale game filter for both providers. Native fallback restores the prior value while still owned, and external changes take precedence.
  • Adds Upscaling, Frame Generation and Diagnostics pages under Mods → MCD2 Graphics, with persistent framed side help, compact rows and a single selected amber tab glow. Ordinary graphics controls remain in Video. Blueprint Loader source and other mods' settings are unchanged.
  • Adds letter-first DLSS SR model choices E/F (legacy CNN), J/K (Transformer), L/M (second-generation Transformer), plus Auto. Auto follows the DLSS quality mode rather than forcing one model everywhere. Nonfunctional Custom is removed.
  • Adds DLSS FG Auto/A/B/C requests, independent FSR SR/FG implementation selectors, loaded runtime versions and separate menu-details/gameplay-diagnostics toggles. The gameplay overlay is at the top left. Active status requires fresh, matching runtime evidence; a saved preset, loaded DLL or accepted override is not final model readback.
  • Official FSR 4.1 and ML FG require supported hardware and driver approval. The optional community 4.1 INT8 upscaler is external and experimental; it does not unlock ML FG. Explicit unsupported selections do not silently become analytical FSR. These paths are outside this candidate's completed activation coverage.

Compatibility and qualification

  • Adds support for the inspected Steam build 25910487, retaining explicit executable/layout checks and Native fallback.
  • Improves padded FSR output copies after resize, SDR FG admission with game sharpening enabled, failed AMD-presenter startup cleanup and shared SDK/resource retirement. The candidate framework also carries the descriptor-heap lifetime correction. These changes do not claim to fix every crash.
  • Corrects bootstrap receipt logging synchronization and current-context diagnostics attribution. Stale, opted-out or mismatched observations cannot be treated as active execution. Some live diagnostic samples can still be unavailable while independent SDK activity advances.
  • Verifies the exact candidate with Blueprint Loader 2.6 on Windows/Radeon and 2.7 on Linux/NVIDIA, Streamline 2.14.16, DLSS 310.9.16, FSR SDK 2.3.0 and RenoDX 0.2026.1023.0826. Platform dependency locks remain separate. Framework and vendor runtimes are acquired externally.
  • Retains ownership-based install, repair and uninstall guards. Linux checks include 148 installer-core checks, 15 exact-candidate filesystem checks and final verification of all 18 installed owned files and 15 dependencies, with no overrides.

Known issues: intermittent shutdown failures remain recorded. Windows reproduced its shutdown fault with official ReShade + Loader and no graphics payload from this mod; Linux's fault is not proven identical. Successful Windows shutdown can take about 89 seconds. Historical focus-loss crashes/black lines and one Linux click-capture recovery remain disclosed. See the linked acceptance records and reporting guide.

Full FPS, frame-time, image-quality and physical latency benchmarks follow release at the maintainer's request. No new performance-benefit claim is made. Physical controllers, wider hardware/lifecycle coverage, Xbox PC, combined FG providers and native MFG remain outside this candidate's qualified scope.

Downloads and installation

Extract the complete installer ZIP and run its included application. No separate .NET/Python installation is needed. The ReShade dependency is a separate download: select its DLL in the installer. Obtain NVIDIA/AMD runtimes and Blueprint Loader externally using the installer's pinned dependency requirements.

Windows was tested with Loader 2.6; Linux with Loader 2.7. Do not substitute the dependency sets or assume optional ML paths are qualified. The exact tested game payload is retained.

These packages are unsigned. A current local antivirus scan has not been run; do not interpret source checks, CI or runtime qualification as an antivirus clean result. Review the published hashes and provenance.

Choose a tag to compare

@SpinGiantCRM SpinGiantCRM released this 07 Oct 12:49
c604005

Frame Generation preview

Adds Frame Generation to Settings → Video, alongside DLSS/DLAA, native HDR and NVIDIA Reflex.

Changes

  • FG Off / On: one generated frame per rendered frame; On enables Reflex. Requires supported NVIDIA hardware, active DLSS/DLAA, native HDR and the separate patched ReShade framework. Restart when requested.
  • Improved foliage motion vectors for DLSS/DLAA, including FG Off.
  • Linux/Proton Reflex pacing fix and successful-reset lifetime handling for preset transitions.
  • Shorter native help, separate recommendation footer and correct Mods-page metadata.
  • Blueprint Loader 2.0+ API policy; official 2.0, 2.2 and 2.3 recognized. Default-Off untested-version overrides for all five dependencies; optional restart-only DLSS model hint.
  • Visible self-contained installer folders; no nested payload ZIP, self-extraction or background downloader.

Download

Extract the entire Windows or Linux installer ZIP and run the included installer. No separate Python/.NET install. Also download ReShade-PR435-4eb9056-reset-epoch-msvc-x64.zip and select it under ReShade in Requirements. This credited source-built dependency supplies required runtime APIs; it is separate from the mod and is not an official ReShade release. NVIDIA runtimes remain official external downloads.

Qualification and limits

Exact-artifact Linux/NVIDIA active features and Windows/AMD GUI/fallback checks passed. No runtime/installer code changes for publication. Native Windows NVIDIA active features/HDR, physical controller, long sessions and device loss remain unqualified. Windows clean exits sometimes took 85–86 seconds; historical failures remain documented. Some interpolation artifacts remain possible; no universal crash repair or measured Reflex latency benefit is claimed.

Steam is verified; Xbox app / Microsoft Store PC remains unverified. The mod does not force offline mode; online/co-op permission and compatibility remain unverified, and offline play is safer.

Packages are unsigned; local antivirus scanning was not available. GitHub is the download fallback if Nexus review delays a file. Earlier tags/assets stay frozen. SHA256SUMS.txt and release-artifacts.json identify these exact downloads.

Update 2: guided installer, native HDR and Reflex

Experimental prerelease. Includes the exact Linux/NVIDIA and Windows/AMD tested installers; no runtime rebuild for publication. Windows NVIDIA execution and HDR output on a Windows HDR display remain unqualified.

New features

  • Standalone Windows/Linux guided installer: Steam detection, verified official dependencies, repair, verify, safe uninstall and sanitized diagnostics. No Python or separate .NET installation needed.
  • Native Video-menu HDR Output, Peak Brightness, Paper White and UI Brightness. Calibration is coordinated with the pinned RenoDX UE Extended addon and requires the restart indicated by the help panel. OS HDR must already work.
  • Streamline NVIDIA Reflex Off / On / On + Boost beside FPS Limit when low-latency support is reported. Shared frame identity, pre-input pacing and measurement markers; no latency-reduction percentage is claimed.
  • Blueprint Loader 2.0 metadata identifies name, description, version, author and help. Settings stay in native Video.

DLSS SR addon and conversion shader remain byte-identical to preview.2. FG, FSR/XeSS and RR are not included. Previous release tags/assets remain frozen.

Download and update

Download the Windows or Linux compiled installer ZIP below, extract it, close the game and run the installer. GitHub’s automatic source archives are for developers. Use Repair / Verify to migrate a hash-matching preview.2 installation; unknown/modified files are retained. Earlier versions need their original uninstall workflow. Dependencies are separate official downloads selected and verified by the installer.

Install / uninstall guide · HDR setup · Required versions.

Tested scope and limits

Linux / RTX 4080 SUPER: guided install/removal, native HDR persistence/restart, supported Reflex modes/current reports, Native/Quality/DLAA coexistence and normal relaunch/exit. Windows 11 / Radeon 860M: dependency selection, repair, real fresh install/uninstall through unchanged installer core, sanitized diagnostics, metadata, unsupported HDR/Reflex behavior, Native fallback before source reduction, resolution/level travel and three clean exits (21m37s, 4m23s, 4m38s).

Windows NVIDIA execution, Windows HDR-display output, physical controller, full Windows keyboard/combat, fresh GUI Install/Uninstall/Browse and fresh full-ReShade setup remain unqualified. Wider device-loss, long-session and unusual configurations remain open. Earlier unexplained shutdown exceptions remain documented; bounded clean runs do not establish their cause or guarantee a fix. The maintainer authorized this prerelease after available AMD Windows qualification, with these limits disclosed.

Output remains 640×360–3840×2160. Main menu stays Native; saved DLSS activates in gameplay. Reselect DLSS after a resolution change if it falls back. Offline single-player only: online/co-op permission and anti-cheat compatibility are unverified. The game must already launch and sign in normally. No game assets, authentication replacements, vendor graphics runtimes or player data are redistributed.

MCD2 Graphics Windows fix candidate — NVIDIA regression failed

Choose a tag to compare

@SpinGiantCRM SpinGiantCRM released this 04 Oct 23:09
2cc9753

Windows-tested candidate for Linux / NVIDIA regression testing. The original v0.1.0-preview.1 tag and assets remain unchanged.

Fixes:

  • Stack overflow shortly after Windows startup: move two 64 KiB path buffers to heap storage.
  • Windows installer running-game detection: compare complete CSV executable names.
  • Unsupported adapter fallback: AMD DLSS/DLAA requests now report native anti-aliasing before reducing source resolution.
  • Add a 15-second pending-source deadline and a reproducible Windows native-only build.

Windows 11 / Radeon 860M validation passed: real install/remove/reinstall with all 16 current save/configuration files preserved, startup and gameplay, Quality/DLAA fallback, return to Native, and normal shutdown after nearly 13 minutes. The extracted archive passed all seven filesystem gates.

Linux / NVIDIA regression FAILED on 5 October 2026. Do not use this candidate as the general replacement yet. Startup and Quality DLSS worked, but Quality → DLAA followed by resuming gameplay crashed inside NGX device shutdown on Proton Experimental / RTX 4080 SUPER. The frozen preview.1 binary passed both directions of this mode switch on the same setup. Sanitized reproduction, hashes and control comparison. This candidate remains held for investigation; Windows/AMD validation does not establish NVIDIA compatibility. The UI and conversion shader reuse the original preview.1 hashes. See docs/WINDOWS_VALIDATION_2026-10-05.md in the archive or repository for evidence and limitations.

Download the MCD2-Graphics-0.1.0-preview.1-windows-fix.1.zip asset below for the installer and payload. GitHub's automatic source archives do not contain the ignored package/ payload. Third-party dependencies and the official DLSS runtime remain separate downloads; follow INSTALL.md and dependencies.lock.json. Nexus has not been updated.

For the Linux handoff, read docs/WINDOWS_COMPATIBILITY.md: it lists every change, its reason, the matching Windows behavior or general safeguard, and what must survive refactoring. AGENTS.md makes this a repository maintenance requirement.
