Luna CE v4.1.1
Corrective release. No change to search or evaluation: the benchmark
node counts are identical to v4.1.0 (depth 18, 1 thread: 590,820 and
980,165).
Fixed
- The Windows executable is now a baseline x86-64 build. The v4.1.0
luna-v4.1.0-windows-x86_64.exewas built by mistake for the build
machine's own CPU (POPCNT, LZCNT, BMI1/BMI2 and AVX2 required) and
failed to start on older CPUs. v4.1.1 needs only SSE3 and CMPXCHG16B;
the AVX2 NNUE kernel is used at runtime where the CPU supports it.
.cargo/config.tomlno longer setstarget-cpu=native. - Startup messages are now UCI
info stringlines, so GUIs and tools
that read the engine's output no longer see non-UCI text before
uciok.
Added
- UCI option
Move Overhead(default 50 ms, range 0-5000 ms). The
default reproduces the previous behaviour exactly. - Build and test safeguards: a compile-time check that
resources/net.binhas the expected size; tests on the embedded
network (output weights within the SIMD-safe limit; a weight of 129,
or a file one byte short or long, is rejected); a test that the
scalar and AVX2 evaluation give identical results on 1,972 distinct
positions. scripts/build_release.ps1builds the Windows executable and checks
its CPU features and disassembly (no POPCNT, LZCNT or BMI
instructions).
Notes
- The
evaldebug command's output is unchanged. - The Windows executable was not tested dynamically on a CPU without
AVX2 or POPCNT. - Speed of the baseline build compared with a native build was not
established. - Release binaries were built from commit 61b7ce2; the tagged commit
(b703e86) differs from it only in README.md.
