Compás Tools 0.1.4

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 04 Nov 23:51
  • Builds the music database the same way as the player v1.5.0, including joining albums without Album Artist.
  • Fixes building the database on Windows.

macOS installation (Apple Silicon)

This community build is not signed with an Apple Developer ID or notarized by Apple. macOS may show “Compás Tools.app is damaged and can’t be opened” when you launch it. Right-clicking and choosing Open may not resolve this warning.

For the official download from this repository:

  1. Download the Apple Silicon .dmg and open it.

  2. Drag Compás Tools.app into Applications.

  3. Open Terminal and run:

    xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Compás Tools.app"
  4. Open Compás Tools from Applications again.

The command removes the download quarantine flag only from this app and its contents. Use the exact application name if you renamed it.

This workaround is for the app-launch warning. If the .dmg itself will not open, download it again and compare its SHA-256 checksum with the release’s SHA256SUMS. This build supports Apple Silicon Macs, not Intel Macs.

Compás Tools 0.1.1

@github-actions github-actions released this 27 Oct 05:30

This is the first release of Compás Tools, a desktop app for managing a player running Compás. Connect your player to your computer, and it handles installing Compás, keeping it updated and looking after the music library.

What it does

  • Installs Compás. It installs Compás on a player over USB, and backs up the player's settings first.
  • Keeps it up to date. With ADB on, it reads the version your player is running, and tells you when there's a newer release and which kind of update it needs. Then it installs the update over USB. It warns you before installing anything older than what you have. Updates need an SD card in the player.
  • Adds music and updates the library. Drag in files or folders and they go onto the player. Files it already has are skipped. Afterwards the library database and album art are rebuilt right away, so the player starts with everything ready. You can also mirror a folder, so songs you've deleted on the computer leave the player too (it asks first).
  • Manages plugins. Browse plugins, layouts and themes with previews, search and categories. Install, update or remove them with one click, or update everything at once.
  • Collects logs. One click saves the player's logs for a bug report, with passwords and other private details removed.
  • Speaks your language. It's available in English, Spanish, German, French, Italian and Russian.

If your computer doesn't have adb, Compás Tools offers to download Google's official copy.

Downloads

  • Linux: the .AppImage. Make it executable and run it.
  • Windows: the .exe installer, or the .msi if you prefer.
  • macOS (Apple Silicon only), early beta: the .dmg. Follow the macOS installation steps below. macOS support is still in early beta; please report any issues.

Good to know

  • On Windows, the installer is not signed with a publisher certificate. If SmartScreen warns you, click More info → Run anyway.
  • On Compás 1.2.0, Compás Tools updates you to 1.3.0 as a full firmware update. Updating the library from your computer needs 1.3.0 or newer. Until then, the player updates its own library the next time it starts, the same as before.
  • If something goes wrong, please open an issue and say what system and player you have.
