StreamDek Mobile v2.2.5
Meet Fleeks, a new way to discover what to watch through full-screen trailers. Downloads are
smaller, more of them work, and they keep going when you leave the app.
What's New
StreamDek Fleeks
Swipe vertically through trailers, explore categories and your own catalogs, check ratings and
comments, and save titles to your watchlist. Tap Watch Now to choose a stream or episode.
Enable it in Settings → Appearance → StreamDek Fleeks. Fleeks takes the place of the Search tab;
the search icon at the top opens Classic Search whenever you need it.
Make Fleeks your own
Choose autoplay, Wi-Fi-only autoplay or muted previews. Use Poster Mode to browse with
full-screen artwork instead of trailers, hide the bottom navigation for a more immersive view,
or let the title details shrink while a trailer plays.
Change the trailer's framing in a tap
The scaling icon beside the sound control cycles through Whole picture, Cinematic and
Fill screen, without restarting the trailer. Your choice carries over to the next title.
The icon stays hidden in Poster Mode.
Fleeks controls where you want them
Choose Top Header or Right Side for the navigation controls in Fleeks settings. Category
selection and Search stay at the top, and the side controls leave room for the title details and
bottom actions. Home and Settings appear in the controls when the bottom navigation is hidden.
Title-page trailers on Wi-Fi only
Under Settings → Title Pages → Trailers, turn on Autoplay trailers on Wi-Fi only to keep
automatic title-page trailers off mobile data. Automatic playback stops if the active connection
leaves Wi-Fi, while trailers you choose to play remain available. The setting is off by default,
is remembered for your profile on this phone, and is separate from Fleeks autoplay.
Improvements
Pause CloudStream extensions without removing them
The new Enable CloudStream extensions switch lets you temporarily stop their catalogs,
search results and streams together. Your installed extensions, collections, settings and
individual source switches are kept, ready to use again when you turn it back on.
Updated TheIntroDB support
Timing lookups and API-key checks now use TheIntroDB API V4, including its updated title and
episode identification. Your existing TheIntroDB key continues to use the same saved setup.
Consistent skip timings across players
ExoPlayer, MPV and libVLC now use the same rules for intro, recap and ending timings. Duplicate or
invalid timings are filtered out, and endings marked as running to the end use the known runtime.
Clearer Plex setup guidance
Plex setup now explains its remote-streaming requirements and includes a Learn more link to
the official guidance.
More reliable Fleeks browsing
Improved loading when opening Search from Fleeks or changing catalogs and filters. Search keeps
your query and selection when you return to the feed, and shows a loading state while results
are still arriving.
Fewer empty artwork pages
Fleeks now tries alternative posters and backdrops when its preferred artwork is missing or fails
to load. If a title has neither usable artwork nor a playable trailer, it is skipped for that
session. Existing artwork stays visible while a better image loads.
Cleaner controls and trailer transitions
Trailers appear only after a video frame has rendered, and playback pauses during swipes.
The bottom controls share one compact row, with space kept beside Watch Now. On smaller
screens, secondary actions move into More. That menu now has StreamDek icons, shorter labels
and a subtly translucent background. Reduced-motion transitions and background cleanup have
also been improved.
Streams download properly
Some streams used to "finish" in a second, leaving a tiny download with nothing to play. StreamDek
now works out what kind of stream a source is before it starts, so these download in full and play
offline like any other.
Smaller, faster stream downloads
When a source offers the same title in several qualities, StreamDek now downloads just one: the best
your phone can play. Every audio language and subtitle comes with it, so you can still switch
between them offline. Downloads that used to take several times the space now take a fraction of it.
More sources can be downloaded
Sources that play fine but used to fail when downloaded, because their servers expect to be asked in
a particular way, now download too.
Links that expire
Some sources hand out links that only last a short while. StreamDek now gets a fresh link before a
download starts, when you resume one that has been paused for a while, and once more if a download
fails because its link expired. It only ever continues with the same file you chose.
Downloads keep going
Downloads carry on when you leave the Downloads page, switch apps or lock your phone. If StreamDek is
closed or your phone restarts part-way through, unfinished downloads pick up again, with their
notification, the next time you open the app.
Know why a download failed
A failed download now says why: the link expired, the source refused it, the connection dropped or
your phone ran out of space. Tap Try again right there in Downloads. The notification says why too.
Good to Know
- Sources that are copy-protected can only be streamed, so they no longer offer Download.
- Android 15 and later give apps about six hours a day of background downloading. If you reach that,
downloads pause and carry on by themselves the next time you open StreamDek. Nothing already
downloaded is lost. - A fresh link can only be fetched from add-ons. Downloads from plugins keep the link they started with;
if one expires, start the download again from the title. - Downloading by hand? Get StreamDek only from
github.com/StreamDek/StreamDek-Releases. If
you're not sure which file suits your phone, choose the universal APK.
Which file do I need?
The app updates itself to the right file automatically. Downloading by hand: pick the file for your device, or the universal APK if you are not sure. Every file is the same app.
