Real-time, content-aware file search. Free software from Struis ICT.
InSearch finds files on disk and searches inside them, streaming matches as it goes. It's built for logs and documents: search plain text (txt, xml, json, log, …) plus pdf, docx, and xls/xlsx/ods, with matches reported per line or per timestamp-to-timestamp block. Everything runs locally — no accounts, no network.
The Detailed results view: file, folder, size, and modified time alongside each match.
- Installation — MSI, standalone exe, Linux, and the Explorer right-click entry
- Usage — search modes, filters, watch mode, result actions, saved searches, the CLI
- Supported formats — what InSearch can search inside
- Security & privacy — how untrusted files are handled
