Sunlith v0.6.2
Changed
- Day opens with all hours by default. Choose Events only or Compact schedule in Settings > General > Day view.
- Existing Event cards choices switch to All hours once. Choosing Events only afterward is saved normally.
- General is first in Settings. Appearance groups layout, colors and app icon options.
- Every month date opens Day directly, including empty and crowded dates. Remove the extra-event count and preview popup.
Fixed
- Restore a visible calendar outline in Light, Dark and themed app icons and onboarding artwork.
- Events only shares one left-hand time label for events starting together. Each card keeps its own duration and opens separately.
- Include midnight labels at both ends of the full hourly view.
- Keep Computer connection controls readable at large text sizes.
Assets
- Sunlith-v0.6.2.apk: the Android app.
- Sunlith-companion-v0.6.2.zip: the computer connection tools and setup guide.
- SHA256SUMS.txt: optional checksums to verify the downloaded files.
Sunlith v0.6.1
Added
- Keep date when changing view in Settings > General. By default, changing views returns to today.
Changed
- Use a smaller, optimized Android build.
- Simpler Settings with compact menus and separate About and Import and export pages.
- Layout controls live together in Appearance; Agenda range offers Continuous, Month, Week and Day in General.
- Opening a calendar date starts Day at the top, then scrolls to its first timed event. The drilled-in Day header uses Back without another view picker.
Fixed
- Month paging retains incoming pages, prepares nearby calendar data and reduces swipe stalls.
- Day focus waits for fresh event data and survives recreation without repeating the scroll.
- Keep customized Week and Day layouts when changing between Agenda and Grid.
- Allow an immediate Week swipe after returning to Today.
- Remove the horizontal stripe from all launcher icon variants. Confirming an icon change reopens the calendar.
Assets
- Sunlith-v0.6.1.apk: the Android app.
- Sunlith-companion-v0.6.1.zip: the computer connection tools and setup guide.
- SHA256SUMS.txt: optional checksums to verify the downloaded files.
Sunlith v0.6.0
Added
- Agenda and Grid layout presets, with independent Month, Week and Day choices in General settings.
- Full event previews from a held month date or its extra-event count.
- Widget configuration through supported launchers' Edit widget action.
Changed
- Compact calendar controls, simpler settings, separate theme and wallpaper-color choices, and Light/Dark icons that fill the launcher shape.
- Computer setup shares the connection file directly and provides a clear route back to the calendar.
- Solid event colors, month grid lines, clearer week time ranges and a current-time line across the week.
- Smoother month swipes and simple screen fades.
Fixed
- Opening a day brings its relevant event into view; Back returns to the parent calendar.
- Day views no longer show the floating Today control. Month and Week use an up arrow.
- Event focus survives recreation without resetting a manually chosen hour; swiping keeps that hour.
- Dark onboarding text, provider event-color overrides and widget-setting refresh after native configuration.
Assets
- Sunlith-v0.6.0.apk: the Android app.
- Sunlith-companion-v0.6.0.zip: the computer connection tools and setup guide.
- SHA256SUMS.txt: optional checksums to verify the downloaded files.
Sunlith v0.5.0
Added
- Light, Dark and Neutral app icons in Settings > Appearance > App icon, with previews using the phone's icon shape.
- Vector sun/calendar artwork based on the new design, including a monochrome icon for Android's themed home screens. The editable SVGs are in assets/icon.
Fixed
- The three-day Week timeline keeps all visible dates loaded when selecting a date across a month boundary, with either Monday or Sunday as the first day of the week.
- Changing the Week layout or switching between three and seven days loads the dates needed by that view.
- Today updates when the date changes while Sunlith is open.
- In the full-month layout, Today appears when its row is scrolled away and returns to that row when pressed. It stays hidden when today is already visible.
Validation
- 26 Android JVM tests and 44 desktop companion tests passed. Android lint reported no errors; the dependency audit found no vulnerabilities.
- Full emulator suites: Android 11, 108 passed; Android 16, 110 passed. Both had two expected skips and no failures.
- Five Fold-sized checks passed at 200% text, along with separate notification-permission recovery and real desktop-to-phone calendar integration.
- GitHub CI passed all four jobs on the tagged commit: Android build/unit tests/lint, plus companion checks on Windows, Linux and macOS.
- Samsung launcher behavior, physical folding, Wi-Fi/Tailscale and battery restrictions still need phone testing. Some launchers may require adding the home-screen shortcut again after changing icons.
- Detailed results and current limits.
Sunlith v0.4.0
Added
- Three layout presets: choose Sunlith, Schedule or Planner during first launch, or under Settings > Appearance. Month, week and day layouts can then be adjusted separately.
- Full month grid: see event titles inside each date and open a day for its details.
- Hourly timelines: place events on a time grid in Day view or across 3 or 7 days in Week view. Overlapping events share columns; dense groups offer an event list.
- Daily schedule: a compact, continuously scrolling list with a date picker above it.
- Material You: use wallpaper colors on Android 12 and newer, with neutral light and dark colors available in Appearance.
Changed
- Month view opens with a continuous agenda. Settings > Agenda can limit it to the selected month, week or day.
- Swiping visibly moves between periods. Previous and next arrows are optional under Settings > Navigation and hidden by default.
- Today appears near the bottom when the current date is out of view.
- The toolbar cog opens Settings directly. Displayed calendars live under Calendars; Computer connection has its own access selection.
- First-run setup focuses on computer connection and layout choice. The assistant guide picker has been removed.
- The README is shorter, and setup and testing details remain in the documentation.
Fixed
- Scrolling through loaded dates keeps its position when earlier dates are added.
- The month grid keeps its event data while the agenda scrolls farther away.
- Turning off calendar collapse restores the complete header.
- Overnight events shorter than 24 hours appear on both days of the hourly timeline.
- Quick repeated navigation taps retain every requested step.
- The three-day timeline keeps its visible dates across activity recreation.
- Widget and event handoffs wait for setup to finish, and creating a calendar for computer access preserves the displayed-calendar selection.
- Corrected companion lockfile metadata for reproducible dependency installs.
Validation
- 26 Android JVM tests and 44 desktop companion tests passed.
- Android 11 and Android 16 regression runs completed, with all nine customization checks passing on both after test-gesture corrections.
- Five Fold-sized checks passed at 200% text, along with notification permission recovery and the actual desktop-to-Android connection.
- GitHub-hosted checks could not start because Actions is disabled for the account. Build and test checks ran locally on Windows; macOS and Linux jobs remain unverified for this release.
- Detailed results and device limits.

- Activity history for the latest 100 successful computer changes.
- Connection details with pairing information and recent contact.
Changed

- Day view event cards align across different time labels.
Fixed
- Widget clock times stay on one line, including noon in 12-hour format.
- Longer all-day widget labels can wrap without clipping.
Validation
- 20 Android JVM tests and the full 82-case API 36 emulator suite passed.
- Desktop companion tests and the actual desktop-to-Android connection passed.
- Recorded checks and limits.
Sunlith v0.2.0
Sunlith v0.2.0
A clean calendar app. Requires Android 8.0 or newer.
Manage events directly on your phone from your computer over Wi-Fi or Tailscale. No Google account or second calendar app is needed.
Install over your current Sunlith app without uninstalling. The published APK keeps the same development signing key and preserves app data.
Changes
- Adds Settings > Computer connection with calendar selection, private file pairing, Start, Stop and Unpair.
- Lets a connected assistant list, create, edit and delete events stored on the phone, including on-device calendars.
- Adds computer import of private ICS backups, with imported, duplicate and skipped counts.
- Uses encrypted connections with a pinned phone certificate. A notification shows when access is on.
- Updates calendar lists even when loading events fails, and clarifies account labels in export selection.
Setup
Open Settings > Computer connection, choose the calendars to share, save the pairing file and send it privately to your computer. Tap Start connection. Keep both devices on the same Wi-Fi or private Tailscale network.
The computer companion works on Windows, macOS and Linux with Node.js 22 or newer. Extract it and read START-HERE.md. See the setup guide.
Only the APK is needed on your phone. The ZIP is the computer companion, and SHA256SUMS.txt verifies both downloads.
Testing and limits
Desktop checks and real Android emulator tests cover pairing, certificate checks, calendar access, event changes, recurrence safeguards, imports and duplicate detection. See recorded results.
The connection must stay on while your computer uses it. Phone battery restrictions can interrupt background access; allow background battery use if needed. It does not start automatically after reboot. Real-device Tailscale connectivity and Samsung battery behavior still need phone testing.
Repeating edits and deletions apply to the entire series. Meetings with guests and series with exceptions are blocked. Imports report unsupported records and reminder changes, and are not one transaction. The direct import tool accepts files up to 256 KiB; larger files can use the phone picker.
Sunlith v0.1.2
Sunlith v0.1.2
A clean calendar app. Requires Android 8.0 or newer.
This update replaces the launcher and setup artwork. Calendar behavior is unchanged.
Install over your current Sunlith app without uninstalling. The published APK keeps the same development signing key so app data is preserved. Production signing is planned before a stable release.
Changes
- Uses the new gold sun and calendar artwork in the launcher and setup screen.
- Keeps the sun rays inside Android's adaptive icon safe area, with a matching transparent monochrome layer for themed icons.
- Uses a transparent in-app mark so the artwork works in both light and dark themes.
Assistant connections
Phone assistants that create downloadable attachments can provide an .ics file containing event details. Open or share it with Sunlith, review the dates and destination calendar, then confirm Import. Compatible Android assistants can also open a draft for you to review and Save.
The computer companion runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux with Node.js 22 or newer. It currently controls Google Calendar only. It does not connect a computer conversation to Samsung-account or phone-only calendars. There is no built-in chat or remote phone-calendar bridge in this update. See the setup guide.
Only the APK is needed on your phone. The ZIP is the computer companion, and SHA256SUMS.txt verifies both downloads.
Testing
See recorded checks and limits. Physical Samsung launcher behavior, account sync, battery restrictions, and reminder delivery still need testing on your phone. Individual assistant integrations have not all been tested with a real calendar account.
Sunlith v0.1.1
Sunlith v0.1.1
A clean calendar app. Requires Android 8.0 or newer.
Install over your current Sunlith app without uninstalling. The published APK keeps the same development signing key so app data is preserved. Production signing is planned before a stable release.
Changes
- The calendar stays visible while the agenda scrolls. Settings > Calendar can enable header collapse.
- Month view lists only that month's days. Week view always lists its seven days, including empty days.
- Pressing Day opens today. The date picker and arrow buttons can then choose another day.
- Sideways swipes no longer change dates. The growing agenda window and unrelated month labels have been removed.
- The calendar has its own bounded scrolling area on small screens and at large font sizes.
- A roomier launcher icon combines a calendar outline with a gold sun. The themed icon and in-app mark match.

Sunlith v0.1.0
Sunlith v0.1.0
A clean calendar app. This is a beta testing build for Android 8.0 or newer. The GitHub release is marked Latest so the download is easy to find; it is still beta software.
Install or update
Open Sunlith-v0.1.0.apk on your phone. Allow installation from that source if Android asks, then grant calendar access and select your calendars. Add the agenda widget through your home screen widget picker.
Only the APK is needed on your phone. The companion ZIP is for computers; SHA256SUMS.txt verifies both downloads.
This beta is signed with a development key. Use the published APK for updates, since local and CI builds can have different keys. Updating the previous test build with the same-signed APK preserves app data; do not uninstall first. Production signing is planned before a stable release. Back up important calendars before testing imports or changes.
Calendar and widget
- Month, week, and day views, search, calendar filters, and English and French support.
- A fixed six-row month grid with centered dates, animated swipe navigation, and a clear Today action.
- A scrollable agenda that includes all days by default, plus options to group empty days or show only days with events.
- Grouped settings, system theme by default, a manual dark toggle, and a startup choice of Month, Week, Day, or last used.
- A resizable agenda widget with day dividers and empty days. Choose 1-31 days, default seven; opacity defaults to 100% and changes in 5% steps. Calendar names are off by default.
- Personal events, repeat presets, all-day dates, notes, locations, notifications with snooze and dismiss, and .ics import/export.
- A minimal sun icon and first-run setup with eight optional assistant guides.
- Phone assistant handoffs: open/share a supported
.icsfile for import preview, or review and Save a draft from a compatible Android calendar intent. No Google account or computer is needed for these local handoffs.
The APK has no advertising, analytics, Internet permission, or built-in chat. It uses Android's shared calendar provider and installed account sync adapters.
Computer companion
Download the computer companion
The local stdio MCP companion runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux with Node.js 22 or newer. Extract the archive and read START-HERE.md. It requires your own Google Desktop OAuth client and authorization to a Google calendar that your phone syncs. Setup guide.
The app provides guides for Codex, Claude, Cursor, Grok, OpenCode, Antigravity, Muse Code, and Pi; Gemini CLI is also documented. Client setup is optional. The companion has no desktop calendar, native desktop installer, hosted setup wizard, or HTTP MCP gateway.
Testing and limits
See test details for recorded checks. Real Google authorization, account sync, reminder delivery, battery restrictions, and launcher behavior still need testing on your phone. Individual assistant integrations have not all been tested with a real account.
The companion controls Google Calendar. Other calendars exposed through Android can appear in the phone app, but this companion cannot control Outlook, CalDAV, or phone-only calendars.
The editor blocks events with attendee records and complex recurring exceptions. Supported recurring edits and deletes apply to the whole series. Imports report unsupported records, including unknown Windows timezone names, and exports can skip malformed provider data. Some detailed diagnostics remain English in the French interface.
Report reproducible issues with the app version, Android version, device, and steps. Leave private calendar content and credentials out of reports.
