OpenHardwareOS v0.1.1 — Version tree and cooling safety fixes
Pre-releaseOpenHardwareOS v0.1.1 is a Windows x64 preview update. Existing v0.1.0 tags and downloads remain available.
Changes
- Add a searchable, keyboard-accessible version tree with separate released, development and planned states, exact source references, install instructions and validation evidence.
- Add a version catalogue and maintenance commands for version preparation, manifest synchronization, generated views and recording verified GitHub publications. Failed file updates roll back; concurrent edits are preserved.
- Parameterize Windows release and public-install checks by version. Install scripts require an explicit version.
- Fix ramp limiting that could reduce fan or pump duty below its safety floor.
- Ensure thermal emergency requests bypass ramp limiting even when the requested duty already meets the emergency target.
- Reject non-finite requested duty and keep non-finite current readings out of ramp calculations.
- Plan v0.2.0 around one identified LibreHardwareMonitor pump channel, with telemetry, bounded control, fault handling and restoration acceptance criteria.
Install
Use the Windows PowerShell installation instructions for this version. The prebuilt CLI requires neither Rust nor Node.js. SHA-256 verification happens before extraction. The default command installs to a separate version directory and preserves older installs.
The desktop installer and optional PowerShell script are unsigned. LibreHardwareMonitor is a separate prerequisite for supported motherboard channels and is not bundled.
Scope of validation
Software and installation validation do not establish compatibility with a physical fan or water pump. This release does not claim real-pump acceptance. See the pump support plan.
release.json identifies the exact source commit and build workflow. SHA256SUMS covers the six accompanying assets. The CLI archive includes its source metadata, Apache-2.0 license and third-party notices.
Verification evidence
- CI: all eight jobs passed, including Windows 490 Rust tests and frontend 42 tests.
- Version-management regression tests: 30 passed, including rollback, concurrent edits, CRLF and release-source validation.
- Windows release build and packaged installation checks passed. Seven release assets were downloaded and checked before publication, including all listed SHA-256 values and source commit
b5ddc6da97c47ed1059618f4d654aeea4a92a478. - Public Windows PowerShell 5.1 installation passed: anonymous release download, checksum verification, versioned install, source/tag check, diagnostics and ten-step simulated demo. All seven public assets also matched the reviewed build byte-for-byte.
