OpenChatMix 2.5.7

The Nova Elite gets its Bluetooth equalizer, and SteelSeries presets go on the way GG sends them.

Highlights

  • Bluetooth equalizer on the Nova Elite (experimental). The Elite has a second equalizer for sound over
Bluetooth, such as from a phone. A switch above the equalizer on the Headset tab now chooses between the
main one (2.4 GHz) and this one, with the SteelSeries presets and ten band sliders.
  • Presets as GG sends them. On the Nova Elite and Nova 7 Gen 2, Bass Boost, Focus and Smiley use shelves
on their lowest and highest band like GG's, and the Elite gets their names too. Notch filters in GG's game
presets reach the Elite as notches.
  • Focus fixed. Its 4 kHz, 8 kHz and 16 kHz bands were wrong; it now matches GG's on every headset.

All of this comes from @Lasfecas's second USB capture in #6, which also confirmed how shelf and pass filters are
sent. Thanks! If something doesn't sound right on yours, please tell us in #6.

The full list is in CHANGELOG.md.

Upgrading

  • Earlier versions find this one on their own once a day (Settings → Updates), download it, check it
against SHA256SUMS.txt and restart. You can also replace OpenChatMix.exe by hand.
  • Your settings carry over.

Files

  • OpenChatMix.exe: the app, portable.
  • OpenChatMix-2.5.7-win-x64.zip: the app with both READMEs, the license and the third-party notices.
  • DeepFilterNet-OpenChatMix.dll: the optional AI noise suppression plugin, built from tools/deepfilter.
  • DeepFilterNet-NOTICES.txt: the licenses of DeepFilterNet and the Rust crates inside the plugin.
  • SHA256SUMS.txt: checksums.

The binaries are not code-signed, so SmartScreen may ask for confirmation on the first run, and some
antivirus programs may flag a new, unsigned program; these are false positives. Compare the files with
SHA256SUMS.txt, read the source code or build them yourself. Third-party code (RNNoise, the VST 3 SDK
interfaces, DeepFilterNet in the plugin) is listed in THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md.
