What's new

Recover downloads when a folder goes missing

• If a torrent's download folder is unavailable, select Set download folder… to choose another one. TinyTorrent checks the files already there and downloads only the missing data. Your files at the original location stay untouched.
• Move and Set download folder now check the destination before they change anything. If the drive or network share is unavailable, the path stays editable so you can choose another folder.
• If a move can't reach the original location, you can select Download here to get the missing files at the destination instead.

Notifications that say what happened

• Notifications now name the job and its result, such as "Subtitle search finished" or "Couldn't download the update", instead of "Task completed" or "Task failed". Failures include the details you need to act.
• From a download location warning's More menu, you can silence these warnings for 1 hour, 8 hours or until restart.

Icons that match Windows

• TinyTorrent now uses Windows' own icons: Segoe Fluent Icons on Windows 11 and Segoe MDL2 Assets on Windows 10. The installation no longer includes its own 926 KB icon font.

Choose a default folder when you add torrents

• In Add, select Set as default download folder to use the chosen folder for later torrents too.
• Add shows when a download location is unavailable.
• Press Enter to add the torrent when the folder list is closed.

Bug fixes

• Help > Update worked only after an automatic check found a new version, and it didn't tell you the result. It's now Help > Check for updates… and works even if automatic checks are off. It tells you that TinyTorrent is up to date or that it couldn't check, and it offers to install a new version.
• After you removed a torrent, the window could flash and lose keyboard focus. Focus now returns to the torrent list.
• The Torrent menu and its context menu showed an extra empty column. They're compact again, with check boxes for on, off and mixed choices.

What's new

More responsive browsing

• I reworked how selecting a torrent or Library file loads its details. The selection responds immediately while the details load in the background, so you can move through the list without waiting.
• Large peer lists appear progressively, and the peer, tracker and file lists avoid unnecessary refreshes.

A steadier details pane

• Switching between items keeps the previous details visible until the new ones are ready, instead of clearing the pane each time. Moving quickly through the list cancels work for selections you've already left.
• Closing the details pane stops loading details you aren't viewing. Open it again and it follows your current selection.

What's new

Rebuilt storage architecture

• I rebuilt much of the download engine's storage handling. Each torrent now has one controller for storage recovery, and each drive has its own workers. Moves, removals and interrupted file operations share the rules for saving and recovering unfinished work.
• This was the largest part of the work: bringing scattered decisions and duplicate recovery paths together, so a fix applies consistently and the engine is easier to maintain.

Better recovery when a drive disappears

• I improved how TinyTorrent handles a disconnected drive or network share. Downloads keep their saved progress while the location is unavailable, and TinyTorrent tries to continue when it returns. A location that stays unavailable shows one warning for the affected torrents, with Retry when you need it.
• A share that stops responding no longer holds up downloads on other drives, including when you reach the share through a linked folder.

Large torrents are easier to browse

• The Add dialog and Files view now load large file lists a folder at a time, so you can browse and choose files without loading the whole torrent at once.
• Search can select or clear every matching file, including matches that aren't shown. The Add dialog also keeps your file choices if it reconnects to the engine.

Moves can use files already there

• Moving to a folder that already contains part of a download now checks those files and uses the pieces that match. Files with a conflicting size are kept, and TinyTorrent tells you why the move stopped.
• I fixed interrupted moves and removal during a move, including putting files back and continuing unfinished work after a restart.

Clearer problems, less noise

• Drive and torrent warnings now explain what went wrong and let you show the affected torrents or retry them. Warnings update or disappear as the problem changes.
• A command that succeeds for some torrents and fails for others names only the ones that need attention.

Subtitles when the download finishes

• Automatic subtitle downloads now search once when a torrent finishes. They no longer search repeatedly while it downloads or across your Library when the window opens. You can still select movies and find their subtitles yourself.

Bug fixes

• A torrent that couldn't load at startup now shows its actual problem in the inspector.
• File and folder priorities stay in sync after changes, and the Pieces view loads correctly for large torrents.
• Search is consistent across file lists and Library: words can be in any order, and case and accents don't matter.

What's new

Updates install themselves

• Help > Update now downloads the new version, installs it and reopens TinyTorrent. It uses your proxy and network adapter settings, and it checks the installer before it runs it, so a damaged or altered download never runs.

Moves rebuilt

• I rewrote how TinyTorrent moves files. Each torrent shows its own progress and finishes on its own. A move on the same drive ends at once, and a move no longer ends with a long recheck, so a downloading torrent keeps downloading.
• A move that a crash or power loss interrupts can continue at the next start, from where it stopped.

Several drives at once

• Checks and moves on different drives now run at the same time. A drive that stops responding gives up after 2 minutes instead of holding up the others, and Exit always ends within 10 seconds.

No more "files are busy"

• Verify, Remove and file choices wait their turn instead of failing because files are busy. A removed torrent leaves the list at once.

A clearer Remove dialog

• The delete options sit on one line, and the line under them says what happens: no files deleted, files moved to the Recycle Bin, or files deleted permanently.

Toasts you can turn off

• Each toast in the window has a More menu to turn off that kind of notification, or all of them.

Bug fixes

• A move between two paths of the same folder, such as C:\temp linked to V:\temp, could delete the only copy of your files. TinyTorrent now sees that the files are already there and stops.
• Adding a torrent no longer shows a false "Task failed" when the Add dialog or the merge question opens.
• Clicking a search result works again.
• The move speed no longer shows inflated numbers for unfinished downloads.

What's new

Lighter on your PC

• I fixed several memory problems. TinyTorrent now uses about 100 MB less memory at startup, and more than 250 MB less in some other situations. I'm keeping the Tiny in TinyTorrent.

IMDb import in about half the time

• I optimized the IMDb data import. In my test it took 75 seconds instead of 162 for about 17 million records, and used 40% less processor time.

A more accurate connection test

• I improved the connection test, so it reports your download and upload speeds more accurately.

Every language works again

• A message that isn't translated yet shows in English. It no longer breaks the rest of the language.

Bug fixes

• Settings is more reliable, with many fixes to how its pages show and save your choices.
• A crash in the map is fixed, and messages are clearer when something goes wrong.
