⚠️ Breaking Changes

  • theme: ⚠️ Redesign on a shared token layer with a nebula backdrop (231a285)

The theme is rebuilt on a three-layer token system: --brand-* inputs, a --tf-* design
system derived from them, and --vp-* mapped from both. Sites change appearance
substantially, but no --brand-* token is renamed or removed, so an existing
docs/.vitepress/theme/custom.css keeps working untouched.

What needs action:

  • Overrides that reached for --vp-* directly. They now fight the mapping layer; move
    them onto the --brand-* names.
  • Restyled sidebar marker ::before rules. The markers are a background image now
    rather than emoji content.
  • A background on body in your custom.css. It buries the new page backdrop, and
the result looks exactly like the component failing to mount. Drop it, or turn the
backdrop off with createTheme({ backdrop: false }).
  • branding.fonts: "none" with self-hosted Open Sans. The theme now asks for Inter and
IBM Plex Sans/Mono. Host those, or point --tf-font-display, --tf-font-body and
--tf-font-mono at what you do host.

Default values moved even though the names did not: --brand-bg-page becomes #f7f9fc so
panels can be white above a tinted page, --brand-text-muted becomes #5a6678 (3.2:1 to
5.2:1, over the AA line it had been under), and the DocMeta badge tokens are a
color-mix of the state colours instead of hardcoded light/dark pairs.

the author-facing pattern classes:
