NewTermux 2.0.1 — Dual screen fixes

What's new

  • Dual screen sessions. The session row on the second screen now lists every open session and keeps up when you open, close or switch sessions. In 2.0.0 it could stay empty after the app started.
  • Session menu on the second screen. Long-press a session tile on the second screen to rename or close it, the same as the session tab menu on the main screen.

Updating

  • From 2.0.0: tap the update notice or go to Settings → Updates → Check now. Installing closes NewTermux, so commands running in it stop; your tabs come back.
  • From 1.6.x: install over it (same signing key, data and settings are kept).

Installation

Download the APK for your architecture:

  • arm64-v8a — most modern Android phones and handhelds
  • armeabi-v7a — older 32-bit ARM devices
  • x86_64 / x86 — emulators and x86 devices
  • universal — works on all devices (larger file size)

Try before you switch

Download newtermux-test-coexist_demo_universal.apk (or your architecture) to try NewTermux without uninstalling Termux. It installs as a separate app (com.termux.demo) and runs a harmless demo shell.

Note: The main NewTermux APKs use the com.termux package name for full binary compatibility. Uninstall the original Termux before installing the main build.
