Alfie Track helps you track your finances, workouts, and nutrition in one app. It's built and maintained by a single independent developer — not a company with a data-monetization business model. The short version: your financial, workout, and nutrition data stays on your device and in your own private iCloud account. Nothing you enter into Alfie Track is sold, and it isn't shared with anyone for advertising.
When you use Alfie Track, you may enter:
- Finance data — income, bills, spending categories, transactions, and savings/investment balances you enter manually.
- Workout data — exercise templates, logged sets, and workout sessions you create.
- Nutrition data — food entries, either typed in, searched, or scanned via barcode.
- Account basics — your name and a stable identifier from Sign in with Apple, used only to keep your account signed in on this device.
None of this is sent to a server we operate — Alfie Track has no backend of its own. It's stored on your device and synced across your devices using your personal iCloud account, exactly like Apple's own apps (Notes, Reminders) do.
If you enable it, Alfie Track reads your step count and logged cardio workouts from Apple Health (HealthKit) to credit them toward your weekly goals. Alfie Track does not write anything back to Health.
HealthKit data is never used for advertising or analytics, and is never sold to data brokers or advertising platforms — this applies even if you also see ads elsewhere in the app, and it's a commitment independent of what any other section of this policy says about analytics or advertising.
You control this permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Alfie Track.
Alfie Track uses your camera only to scan food barcodes when you tap the scan button in Nutrition. The camera feed is processed on-device to read the barcode; Alfie Track does not save photos or video, and nothing from the camera is transmitted anywhere.
If you turn on "Require Face ID" in Settings, Alfie Track asks iOS to verify you with Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode before showing your data after the app is backgrounded. This check happens entirely on your device through Apple's LocalAuthentication framework — Alfie Track never receives or stores any biometric data itself.
Alfie Track stores your data using Apple's SwiftData framework, backed by your personal iCloud account (CloudKit private database). That means:
- Your data syncs between your own devices signed into the same iCloud account.
- We — the developer of Alfie Track — cannot see, access, or download your data. It never passes through a server we control.
- Apple's iCloud terms and security practices govern that sync layer; see Apple's own privacy documentation for details.
Alfie Track uses TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service, to understand broad usage patterns — for example, how many devices logged a workout this week. Signals are tied to an anonymous, device-derived identifier, not to your name, account, or any of your finance/health/nutrition content. TelemetryDeck cannot be used to identify you personally.
If you haven't subscribed to Alfie Track Plus, Alfie Track shows banner ads served by Google AdMob — but only on the Nutrition and Workouts tabs. Finances and Overview never show ads, regardless of subscription status.
Google's AdMob SDK may use a device or advertising identifier to personalize and measure those ads — this is considered "tracking" under Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework, so iOS will prompt you for permission the first time you reach an ad-eligible screen. Declining still shows ads, just less targeted ones.
This identifier is tied to your device for advertising purposes only — it is never linked to your identity, your Alfie Track account, or any finance, workout, or nutrition data you log in the app.
See Google's advertising policy for how Google itself handles that data.
Alfie Track Plus ($3.99/month) removes ads and is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple's App Store. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple — Alfie Track never sees or stores your payment details. Alfie Track only receives confirmation from Apple's StoreKit that your subscription is active, which it uses to hide ads.
We do not sell your data. We do not share your finance, workout, nutrition, or health data with third parties for their own marketing purposes. The only outside parties involved in running Alfie Track are:
| Service | Purpose | What it sees |
|---|---|---|
| Apple (iCloud/CloudKit) | Storing & syncing your data | Encrypted app data, tied to your Apple ID |
| Apple (Sign in with Apple) | Account sign-in | Name, stable user identifier |
| Apple (StoreKit) | Subscription billing | Purchase & payment info — Apple only |
| TelemetryDeck | Anonymous usage analytics | Anonymous device signal, no content |
| Google AdMob | Displaying & personalizing ads (free tier) | Device/ad identifier (with your ATT permission), ad interactions — never your identity or in-app data |
Your data stays in your private iCloud account for as long as you keep the app installed and signed in. To delete it:
- Delete individual entries directly within Alfie Track, or
- Sign out (Settings → Sign out) to remove local access on that device, or
- Delete the app, then remove its iCloud data via iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → Alfie Track, which permanently deletes it from iCloud.
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, the "last updated" date at the top of this page will update. Continued use of Alfie Track after a change means you accept the revised policy.
