v0.5.0 beta (Windows and Linux)

Choose a tag to compare

@TheLiloji TheLiloji released this 16 Oct 00:55

New options from your votes, a dashboard rebuilt from scratch, a run start menu with pictures, paste in the connect screen, a new event, blood pacts, and a lot of fixes from your reports. Seeds made with 0.4 still work with the 0.5 mod.

Updating from 0.4

  1. In ftlman, replace ArchipelagoFTL.ftl with the one from this page and click Apply.
  2. Copy the Hyperspace library from this page into the FTL folder again, after Apply: Hyperspace.dll (Windows), Hyperspace.1.6.13.amd64.so (Linux, Steam) or Hyperspace.1.6.12.amd64.so (Linux, GOG/Humble). Apply always puts the official one back, and 0.5 needs this new one: without it, paste, deals with full augment slots and packages with a full cargo do not work.
  3. Replace ftl.apworld too: the new options need a seed made with 0.5, and a 0.4 host refuses a 0.5 YAML instead of silently dropping its options.

New options

  • Free Upgrades: system levels you receive are installed for free, right away and at the start of every run.
  • System Install: systems whose blueprint you received come aboard for free, at the start of every run or as soon as they arrive.
  • Run Start Scrap: every new run starts with a share of all the scrap items you received.
  • Combat Checks per Ship: the first fights each ship wins in a run send checks. Those fights give part of their scrap.
  • Victory Collects the Layout: a victory also sends the layout's sector checks left, or with everything its achievements, system and fight checks too.
  • Sector Logic power: before far sectors and the flagship, the logic expects shield layers, weapons and engines on the ship doing the check.
  • Excluded Ships and Layouts: leave out the ships or layouts you never want to fly.
  • A first_game preset, clearer YAML errors and warnings, and the options page rewritten in six languages.

Dashboard (TAB)

  • Checks as a grid: one row per ship, one box per sector, fight or level. The ship you fly comes first, then what counts on any ship, then the other ships. A banner says how many checks are left on this ship, and in this sector for the shop. Point at a box to see what it is, and for a done check what it gave and to whom.
  • Achievements with their real game icons, Victories with each layout's ship picture, First crew as cards with each race's sprite.
  • Ships with a picture of every layout you unlocked.
  • Overview: click a category to open its checks.
  • Systems with FTL's system icons, green once usable, grey while locked.
  • Journal colored by item class (progression, useful, trap, filler), with what each bundle contained.
  • A This run card with your fights, the next fight check and next run's scrap.
  • Names follow the game's language (achievements, races, systems), and FTL's own tooltip no longer draws over the dashboard.

In game

  • Run start menu with pictures: the weapon, the drone or the crew member's sprite next to each choice. Long names go on two lines instead of being cut.
  • Paste in the connect screen: Ctrl+V pastes in any field. Copy the room's whole /connect host:port line (even with text after it) or host:port, and both address and port fill in. The field the server blames turns red, and the button says it is connecting.
  • After "The seed changed" and FTL's restart, the password you typed is filled in again, once.
  • New Archipelago event: pirates hold a package, often a friend's. Pay them, or win the fight and it goes out for free.
  • Blood pacts on the Archipelago shop's second page: more scrap, but 5, 10 or 20% of the time one of your crew dies for good. Never your last one.
  • The shop beacon says AP STORE on the map, the event beacons keep ARCHIPELAGO.
  • An empty shop slot says why: waiting for the server, sold in sector N, sold aboard another ship, or next run.
  • Messages last in real seconds (they flashed by on fast screens or with the frame limit off), long ones stay longer, and "this run does not count" stays on screen.
  • Unlock messages use the game's name for the item, in your language.

Fixes

  • Deals and blood pacts can be bought even with all 3 augment slots full.
  • Archipelago packages can be bought even with four weapons and a full cargo.
  • Quests can no longer replace an Archipelago shop or event beacon.
  • A refused Clone Bay or Medbay purchase gives back the system it replaced, at its level.
  • A refused Drone Control no longer leaves its free drone in your cargo.
  • An event selling an upgrade for a system at its Archipelago cap no longer takes your scrap.
  • A system needs its blueprint to be bought, installed or shown as unlocked.
  • Another World without Trap Link has a choice to just move on.
  • The NOT IN SEED labels no longer draw over the ship list help.
  • Connecting to a local server no longer shows "not answering" first.

Thanks to Trapper444 for the Spanish review and the logo, and to everyone who reported bugs and voted.

Multiverse test version 5 (based on 0.5.0)

Choose a tag to compare

@TheLiloji TheLiloji released this 16 Oct 00:55

Test version for FTL: Multiverse. Everything from 0.5.0, plus what is below for Multiverse. Not for the base game: for that, take the latest release. Tested in Multiverse 5.5.1.

New for Multiverse

  • First crew checks for the Multiverse races: Crystal, Orchid, Shell, Leech, Phantom, Spider and Lizard, plus Cognitive, Siren, Pony and Obelisk, which are rare and only ever hold filler. 11 more checks. Variants and unique characters count for their race.
  • Each unique character who joins your crew gives you one free hint per seed.
  • The dashboard's Ships page shows the race of most of each ship's crew (nothing for ships whose crew is random, like the Militia).
  • The First crew page fits all 18 races on one screen, and Multiverse achievements show their own icons.
  • The run start menu shows Multiverse weapons and drones with their pictures.
  • The pirates' package event happens in Multiverse sectors too.

Install

  1. Install FTL Archipelago as usual first (Windows, Linux), but with the ArchipelagoFTL.ftl and ftl.apworld from this page.
  2. Get Multiverse 5.5.1 (Data and Assets). If you use the MV installer, it also installs the newest Hyperspace: that is fine, step 3 puts the right one back.
  3. In ftlman: pick Hyperspace 1.23.1, put MV Assets, then MV Data (Assets above Data, as Multiverse asks), then ArchipelagoFTL last in the mod list, and click Apply.
  4. Copy the new Hyperspace library from this page into the FTL folder again, after Apply: Hyperspace.dll (Windows), Hyperspace.1.6.13.amd64.so (Linux, Steam) or Hyperspace.1.6.12.amd64.so (Linux, GOG/Humble). 0.5 needs this new one.
  5. In your YAML, add multiverse: true (and multiverse_achievements: true if you want the MV achievements as checks).

You start with the MV Kestrel. The hangar only lets you fly the ships you received.

Reporting

Something odd, a crash, a check that did not send, a price that feels wrong? Send me your FTL_HS.log (in the FTL folder, or its data folder on Linux) right after it happens, and say what you were doing. Every report helps a lot.

v0.4.4 beta (Windows and Linux)

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 13 Oct 16:03

Bug fixes from your reports. Seeds made with 0.4.0 to 0.4.3 still work. To update: put the new ArchipelagoFTL.ftl in ftlman, apply, then copy the Hyperspace library from this page into the FTL folder again (Apply always puts the official one back). Update ftl.apworld too if you generate seeds.

  • The Archipelago shop no longer stays empty on the first connection to a new seed (it asked the server too early and never asked again).
  • Multiverse kinds of a race (Separatist Engi, Human Soldier, Zoltan Monk, Lanius Welder...) now count for that race's crew check.
  • Hints say which ship and sector sell a shop slot, like "Archipelago Shop 9 (Mantis Cruiser, sector 2)", and the dashboard's Checks page lists every shop slot with its ship and sector.
  • The Slug event has a third choice to just leave, without paying or taking hull damage.
  • A seed with no shop checks no longer shows packages left over from solo mode.
  • Ancestry needs the Rock Cruiser C in logic (its Crystal crew member makes the secret sector findable), and is left out when the Rock C is not in the seed.
  • Archipelago Shop by Sector is now off by default.
  • The game docs point to the Options Creator and the presets, instead of a website options page that doesn't exist for FTL.

Multiverse test version 4 (based on 0.4.4)

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 13 Oct 16:03

Test version for FTL: Multiverse. It works well in my tests, but expect bugs: this is the point, I need your reports. Not for the base game: for that, take the latest release.

New in this one: the fixes of 0.4.4. For Multiverse especially: crew kinds like the Separatist Engi or the Human Soldier now count for their race's check (starting crew still doesn't count, only recruits), and hints and the dashboard say which MV ship and sector sell each shop slot. Tested in Multiverse 5.5.1.

What is in it: the 55 MV ships and 147 layouts (unlocked by Archipelago items in the MV hangar), MV weapons, drones and augments in the item pool (in bundles), Archipelago beacons in the MV sectors, MV endings counting as victories, and 26 MV achievements as optional checks.

Install

  4. Copy Hyperspace.dll (Windows), Hyperspace.1.6.13.amd64.so (Linux, Steam) or Hyperspace.1.6.12.amd64.so (Linux, GOG/Humble) from this page into the FTL folder again, after Apply.
  5. In your YAML, add multiverse: true (and multiverse_achievements: true if you want the MV achievements as checks).

You start with the MV Kestrel. The hangar only lets you fly the ships you received.

v0.4.3 beta (Windows and Linux)

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 10 Oct 18:46

Bug fixes for 0.4.2. Seeds made with 0.4.0 to 0.4.2 still work. The Hyperspace library changes again: update ArchipelagoFTL.ftl in ftlman, apply, then copy the new library (Hyperspace.dll on Windows, Hyperspace.1.6.13.amd64.so on Linux, Hyperspace.1.6.12.amd64.so for GOG/Humble on Linux).

  • With the Kestrel, every beacon of sector 5 no longer says you unlocked the Engi.
  • Weapons and drones you receive now come aboard when you arrive at a beacon, not in the middle of your stay. Selling at a store no longer gets your cargo hold refilled right away, and at a store the last cargo slot stays free so you can buy an Archipelago package. What doesn't fit waits for the next jump, and the game tells you.
  • Crew checks count every new crew member, even of a species your ship started with (a human bought for the Kestrel now sends "First Human aboard").
  • The dashboard is clearer about systems: "0/2, no blueprint yet" for a system your ship starts with, "2/7 upgrades received" once you have the blueprint.

Multiverse test version 3 (based on 0.4.3)

@github-actions github-actions released this 10 Oct 18:46

Test version for FTL: Multiverse. It works well in my tests, but expect bugs: this is the point, I need your reports. Not for the base game: for that, take the latest release.

New in this one: the fixes of 0.4.3 (weapons and drones come aboard when you arrive at a beacon, the cargo hold keeps a slot free at stores, crew checks count every recruit, clearer dashboard). The Hyperspace library changes: copy the new one.

What is in it: the 55 MV ships and 147 layouts (unlocked by Archipelago items in the MV hangar), MV weapons, drones and augments in the item pool (in bundles), Archipelago beacons in the MV sectors, MV endings counting as victories, and 26 MV achievements as optional checks.

v0.4.2 beta (Windows and Linux)

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 08 Oct 13:43

Bug fixes for 0.4.x. Seeds made with 0.4.0 or 0.4.1 still work. The Hyperspace library changes this time: update ArchipelagoFTL.ftl in ftlman, apply, then copy the new library (Hyperspace.dll on Windows, Hyperspace.1.6.13.amd64.so on Linux).

  • Only Archipelago unlocks ships now. FTL could unlock ships by itself (an event, an achievement, a win). These unlocks are now refused, and at the main menu any ship FTL unlocked before is locked again. A run with a ship you did not receive counts for nothing, and the hangar marks it NOT RECEIVED.
  • Achievement checks are sent. They never were before: the mod was reading the wrong list.
  • A Type B or C layout now needs its ship's key too, like the logic says.
  • A check now shows the item it sends and who gets it.
  • New: a Linux library for FTL from GOG or Humble (Hyperspace.1.6.12.amd64.so).
  • The lock icon on augments you can't sell is FTL's again, not our logo.

v0.4.1 beta (Windows and Linux)

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 03 Oct 17:39

Bug fixes for 0.4.0. Seeds made with 0.4.0 still work. The Hyperspace library is the same: only update ArchipelagoFTL.ftl in ftlman, apply, then copy the library again.

  • Archipelago shop prices rise with the sector again (in 0.4.0 every package kept its starting price).
  • Items now arrive next to a ship that is not hostile (guard, trader): only a real fight holds them back.
  • A weapon received during a fight is no longer lost if the game closes before the fight ends.
  • When the cargo hold is full, the message now always says so.
