OpenRecomp-FGC v0.1.1 (pre-release: test build). One launcher for Tekken 4 (USA) and Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection Online (USA), native on Windows, with online play for both. No game data is included: you bring your own copies and each game is built on your PC.

New in v0.1.1

  • Full Setup: OpenRecomp-FGC-Full-Setup-0.1.1.exe installs the launcher together with Tekken 5 DR Online 1.2.0
and Tekken 4 0.1.0 (beta) in one go (a checkbox per game, both on). The games are the published, signed release
files, checked exactly like an install from inside the launcher. The small Setup and the zip stay as before.
  • T5DR lobby address: on a new PC the Lobby field already names the T5DR Online server; an empty field means the
same server. A server that cannot be reached now says "Lobby not reachable" instead of a general error.
  • One launcher online at a time: when T5DR's own launcher or another OpenRecomp window is open, OpenRecomp says so
and does not log in by itself against it (no more logging each other out). "Use OpenRecomp here" logs in with this
    launcher's remembered login.
  • Adding or removing a game keeps the other games logged in.
  • OpenRecomp-FGC Discord button in the top bar and in Quick access. T5DR's Problem report page gets
"Send to the developer" (one press) as soon as the lobby server supports it.
  • Quick access > Test versions re-checks the games right away.
  • Linux / Steam Deck (Proton, Wine): Tekken 4's Build says why it cannot run there (it needs Windows PowerShell)
instead of failing silently; Japanese and Korean text uses Linux fonts when Windows' are missing.
  • Games can be described in one JSON file (docs/ADD_A_GAME.md): start, stop, settings, picture and a signed update
check. A Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (TAG2 PC) folder on this PC shows its own tile.

Install

Pick one:

  1. Full Setup (launcher + both games). OpenRecomp-FGC-Full-Setup-0.1.1.exe installs the launcher, Tekken 5 DR Online 1.2.0 and Tekken 4 0.1.0 (beta) for your Windows user (no administrator rights). Untick a game you do not want. You still build each game once from your own package / disc image.
  2. Setup (launcher only). OpenRecomp-FGC-Setup-0.1.1.exe; install the games later from their tiles.
  3. Zip. Unpack OpenRecomp-v0.1.1.zip into a new, empty folder you can write to and double-click OpenRecomp-FGC un.cmd.

Already have v0.1.0? The launcher offers v0.1.1 by itself a few seconds after it starts, once this release is the latest release (until then: Quick access > Test versions on). You confirm, it updates in place and keeps your settings, logins, games and builds.

The programs are not code-signed yet: Windows SmartScreen may warn ("unknown publisher"). Compare the SHA-256 of your download with the table below or with SHA256SUMS.

Requirements, game notes and known limits are unchanged from v0.1.0: Windows 10/11 64-bit; Tekken 4 needs your own USA ISO (SLUS-20328) and the build tools the Build page offers to install; Tekken 5 DR needs your own .pkg and .rap.

Test instructions (testers)

  1. Full Setup on a PC without OpenRecomp: both games ticked. After it finishes the launcher shows both tiles as installed (Tekken 5 DR 1.2.0, Tekken 4 0.1.0).
  2. Tekken 5 DR: build with your .pkg/.rap, then Online: leave the Lobby field as it is (or empty) and log in as guest or with your account: does it reach the lobby? Log out.
  3. Open T5DR's own launcher (T5DR Online.exe) while OpenRecomp is open: OpenRecomp shows a note and does not log you out over there; "Use OpenRecomp here" logs in here.
  4. Tekken 4: Build page, choose your ISO, Build game, Play.
  5. Top bar / Quick access: the OpenRecomp-FGC Discord button opens the invite.
  6. A v0.1.0 install (only once this release is the latest release, or with Test versions on): the update is offered, Install, the launcher restarts as v0.1.1 and says so.

Write OK / error / not checked for each step; for an error: what you did and what happened.

Testanleitung (Tester, Deutsch)
