Voidrunner v1.3.0
Voidrunner v1.3.0 draws the viewport as full-screen pictures and makes text-heavy screens easier to read.
Viewport pictures (requested by the first external SysOp, #23)
- What they show: the Viewport is drawn in the same half-block pixels as the in-flight scenes.
- [1] Ship: your hull, lit along its plating, with the drive burning and the world you're docked at behind it. Damage shows as scorch marks, then sparks, then smoke and a cockpit alarm.
- [2] Station: your station, with its ring turning and traffic on its approach.
- [3] Discovery: each of the four landmarks drawn as itself, or a scanner sweeping empty space.
- Idle and keys: a picture opens its blast shutters and idles until you press a key. That key is the command, so nothing gets swallowed. The idle stops after about 21 seconds.
- Presets:
fastandDOOR_SCENES=0get a still picture.mono, plainand terminals too small for a picture keep the ASCII portraits. - Wire size: opening plus the whole idle stays under 100 KB at 80×24 in truecolor.
Scenes
- Each scene now holds its last frame for 2 seconds instead of 0.8, and any key still skips it (#23).
- Prose: running text has its own cool grey and is no longer the brown label color. This affects the Pilot Guide, the viewport and contract terms.
- Label/value rows: in rows shaped
Label: value, the label and the value are colored apart. - Gauges: on the Command Deck, the hull condition takes its severity color (Intact green, Damaged amber, Critical red). The words after the other gauges' numbers are prose.
- Journey Resumed: the pilot's callsign, the destination and the day are highlighted.
- Achievements:
- Descriptions are prose, with their numbers in bold and credit amounts in gold.
- Progress is a gradient. The goal is in its medal's color, and the count so far moves from pink toward that color as you close in.
