Release list
Spindle server 1.1.0
The server image for running Spindle yourself: the API and the web app in one Linux image, for amd64 and arm64.
ghcr.io/threennovate/spindle:1.1.0
Also tagged 1.1, 1 and latest. To update, pull and restart (docker compose pull && docker compose up -d in deploy/). The database migrates itself when the new version starts.
What's new
- A workspace of your own: someone who joined by invitation can create a workspace too. It starts an organization of their own, apart from the one that invited them, which they own and can invite people to. A server closed to sign-up (
Auth__AllowRegistration=false) still lets only owners and admins create workspaces. - Ignored repositories: the Mac and Windows apps can ignore a repository, so its agent work isn't uploaded or suggested. The server keeps only a keyed hash of each ignored repository, and ignoring one deletes what was uploaded for it.
- Reports open from a list of views (My week, My month, Team this week, Who worked on what, and the ones you save), with filters as chips and Edited when you change a view.
- The report donut's last slice no longer spills over the first.
- The image's version label is now the release version.
docs/self-hosting.md covers the settings, email, a reverse proxy, backups and updates.
Spindle for Mac 2.6.0
The Mac app: the timer in the menu bar, global shortcuts, quick entry with ⌘K, and the place where split suggestions from Claude Code, Codex and Copilot come from.
Download Spindle for Mac: a disk image signed and notarized by Apple. Needs macOS 14 Sonoma or later. Installed copies update themselves.
What's new
- Ignore a repository you don't want in Spindle, such as a private project: choose Ignore Repository beside No Project in Settings → General → Linked repositories, or for a repository in a suggestion or the day's review. Its agent work no longer shows in the calendar, suggestions or untracked time, and the time you spent there isn't given to another project either. With activity sync on, nothing about it is sent; your other devices get only a hash of it, so they ignore it too. Settings lists ignored repositories, to stop ignoring one.

Spindle for Windows 1.3.0
The Windows app: the timer in the tray, global shortcuts, quick entry, and split suggestions from Claude Code, Codex and Copilot.
- Installer for x64 (
Spindle-Setup.exe), which Windows on Arm runs too - Native Arm64 installer (
Spindle-Setup-arm64.exe)
Needs Windows 10 or later. It installs for your user without administrator rights and updates itself. The installer isn't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen may warn before it runs (#7).
What's new
- Continue with Google or Apple: sign in or create an account without a password, on servers that offer it.
- While you type a description in the entry editor, Spindle offers ones you wrote before, also for each project's own description in a split. ↑ and ↓ pick one and Enter takes it; the project and the split stay as they are.
- The timer's suggestions show first what starts with what you typed, then what you wrote on the same project and what you use most.
- Spindle reads GitHub Copilot CLI logs too, beside Claude Code and Codex. Choose which agents it reads in Settings → General → Parallel work. If you already had agent logs on, Copilot starts off there.
- Continue, Duplicate and the timer's earlier entries keep each project's own description in a split, so one project's report no longer shows what was done on another.
