v1.8.0 - Structured Logging

New Features

  • Structured logging with semantic event types for better filtering and analysis
  • Job lifecycle events: JobQueued, JobStarted, JobCompleted, JobFailed, JobCleanedUp, JobSummary. WhisperExit
  • Configurable log filtering using Serilog.Expressions
  • Support for separate job-specific log files
  • Windows Event Log integration with event-based filtering

Configuration

  • New Serilog.Expressions package enables advanced filtering
  • Sub-logger configuration for routing events to specific destinations
  • Reduced noise from Microsoft/System namespaces (default: Warning level)

Setup Note
To use Windows Event Log, register the source once as Administrator:

New-EventLog -LogName Application -Source "WinWhisperServer"
