Kiln now tells you when a new version is out.
New
- Update check. When its window opens, Kiln asks GitHub whether a newer release is available. If there is one, it offers to open the download page, to skip that version, or to ask again later. It is one request to
api.github.comcarrying only Kiln's version (GitHub sees your IP address, as with any web request), and Kiln never updates itself. To turn the check off, set the environment variableKILN_NO_UPDATE_CHECK=1.
Earlier versions do not have the check, so this update is the one you install by hand: from here on, Kiln lets you know.

SHA256SUMS lists the checksum of every file. Installation steps for each system are in the README.
Kiln is early software. It erases whole drives, so check the drive name before you write.
Source code
Kiln is free software under the GNU GPL v3 or later. Besides the source of this release, the release carries the unmodified source archives of the GPL and LGPL components built into Kiln: libcdio, wimlib, hivex, GNU libiconv and Ventoy.
