Release list
v0.1.27
Remote Play Protection
- Adds an optional Decky toggle that detects active Steam Remote Play sessions from Steam's local streaming log.
- Suppresses toolkit CEC wake/input switching and Gamescope Recovery while a stream is active.
- Restores normal local controller input switching when the stream ends.
- Preserves an enabled Remote Play Protection monitor across reinstall/update.
Gamescope Recovery
- Makes clear that recovery restarts the active Game Mode session and can end local games or streams.
- Remote Play Protection prevents recovery from interrupting an active Steam Remote Play session.
v0.1.26
Changes
- Add configurable SteamOS sleep/shutdown CEC action.
- Default remains HDMI-CEC Standby for existing behavior.
- Add Inactive Source mode for TVs that cold-boot or hard shutdown on CEC Standby.
- Expose Sleep TV Action in the Decky plugin configuration.
- Keep CEC Volume Buttons reboot caveat documented: reboot once after enabling/disabling before judging Quick Settings UI.
Validation
- Tested on martin-steambox regression flow.
- npm run build passed.
- bash syntax checks passed.
- Python compile check passed.
- git diff --check passed.
v0.1.25
Changes
- Fix CEC volume addressing so the normal path uses the SteamOS adapter logical address with kernel validation instead of raw spoofing by default.
- Preserve explicit TV-originated spoofing for receivers/soundbars that require it.
- Fall back to TV logical address 0 for TV-speaker setups when no Audio System is present.
- Add optional LG SIMPLINK handshake support for LG TVs that ignore standard CEC volume keys.
- Add Decky configuration for Auto Volume Initiator and LG SIMPLINK Handshake.
- Update installer output, README, and troubleshooting docs for the new volume setup.
Validation
- Tested existing receiver/soundbar spoof path on a Panasonic TV + Audio System setup: 0 -> 5 still transmits correctly.
- Tested Auto path on the same setup: Playback Device -> Audio System transmits correctly.
- bash syntax checks passed.
- Python compile check passed.
- Decky build passed.
- Release asset checksums verified.
v0.1.24
Release v0.1.24
- Improves CEC wake/input activation after SteamOS resume by restarting and waiting for SteamOS cecd, calling cecd Wake, and keeping raw CEC active-source fallback.
- Logs raw CEC send failures during resume instead of hiding them.
- Adds configurable resume cecd settle/restart settings.
- Improves installer progress output around CEC audio and WirePlumber restart.
- Documents Bluetooth wake troubleshooting for systems that resume to ping-only/no display/no SSH.
v0.1.23
Hotfix and installer UX update.
Changes:
- Fix SteamOS Start Wakes TV toggle in the Decky plugin. It now enables/disables the boot-wake oneshot for the next session start instead of starting the CEC retry loop immediately from the toggle.
- Add clearer install progress output after sudo, including root helpers, systemd/udev files, sudo permissions, ExternalVolume, user services, CEC permissions, selected services, and audio restart.
This avoids the previous timeout/error when enabling SteamOS Start Wakes TV from the plugin.
v0.1.22
Installer hotfix.
Changes:
- Stop automatically restarting Decky Loader during install/update.
- The installer still installs the Decky plugin files, but now asks users to restart Steam or reboot only if the plugin does not update immediately.
Reason:
Restarting plugin_loader.service can restart steamwebhelper/CEF and make Game Mode appear frozen on some systems.
v0.1.21
Installer UX hotfix.
Changes:
- Show clearer progress while installing the Decky plugin: preparing directory, downloading, extracting, setting permissions, and restarting Decky Loader.
- Add a timeout around Decky Loader restart so plugin installation does not appear to hang indefinitely if plugin_loader.service is slow.
No CEC behavior changes from v0.1.20.
v0.1.20
Hotfix after v0.1.19.
Fix:
- Do not trigger Gamescope recovery from ordinary Home/Guide/Steam button presses when the SteamOS CEC source is already active.
This keeps input switching behavior intact while avoiding unwanted Gamescope restarts during normal Steam UI navigation.
v0.1.19
Stable release after v0.1.18 prerelease testing.
Changes:
- Add system-level CEC wake/input activation after SteamOS resume from suspend.
- Keep Home/Guide input switching tied to explicit CEC activation and avoid invalid logical address 15 during wake attempts.
- Improve Gamescope recovery trigger after CEC activation.
- Preserve the new resume wake service through SteamOS atomic updates.
- Rename the Decky controller feature to Input Switching and expose resume wake status in diagnostics.
- Update README install/persistence documentation.
v0.1.18 experimental - do not use
Experimental prerelease, not recommended. This build tested a dedicated resume-wake service and was pulled back after suspend/resume instability during real HTPC testing. Use the latest stable release instead, currently v0.1.17. Main has been reverted to remove this experiment.
