Overview
A large overhaul to integrate the newest version of the Common Design with the newest version of WordPress (6.2). Gutenberg was tested and modified to better display the CD during authoring. Layouts have been added and are already configured on the Support Demo. You have five layouts to choose from now:
- Layout Sidebar first
- Layout Sidebar first - Wide
- Layout Sidebar second
- Layout Sidebar second - Wide
- Layout Sidebar both (this one isn't recommended but it still exists).
Issue Summary
Steps to Upgrade
The simplest method is to create a new theme side-by-side with the old one and copy your customizations over to it.
Release v2.0.0
Features
The CD got a large upgrade and looks the same as any new website being built in 2022. A significant consequence is that it no longer contains 100% feature parity for IE11, in accordance with the OCHA Digital Services' support policy and all newer Common Design websites.
Fixes
- CD-330: Add attachment template to prevent infinite loop by @left23 in #26
- CD-335: Break long URLs by @left23 in #27
- Bump minimist from 1.2.5 to 1.2.6 by @dependabot in #28
⚠️ BREAKING CHANGE⚠️ Upgrade minimum node.js and npm versions (see Steps to Upgrade below)
Steps to Upgrade
We've bumped the minimum supported node.js versions:
- node.js: 16.13.2
- npm: 8.1.2
This might have no effect on your setup, but if you use the build tools (any command starting with gulp or npm) then you must upgrade your development environment to the aforementioned versions of node. Any other hosted environment which runs similar commands (dev, pre-prod, prod) must also support the above versions of node/npm.
