Van de Booth 2.1.1

Van de Booth 2.1.1 includes everything in 2.1.0 (six strip layouts, a redesigned Wide layout, screens that fit every layout) plus a window icon fix and mirrored photos. It was never published as 2.1.0.

What's new in 2.1.1

• The window shows the Van de Booth icon instead of the default Electron icon.
• Saved photos are mirrored so they match the live preview. Operator Mode > Photos > Mirror photos turns this off (applies to new photos; the preview always stays mirrored).
• The repository moved to Umeem26/Van-de-Booth; links and badges are updated.

What's new since 2.0.0 (from 2.1.0)

• Six layouts instead of three: Classic Strip (2x6, 4 photos), Tall Strip (2x6, 3), Wide (6x4, 3), Big Shot (6x4, 1), Four Square (6x4, 4) and Contact Sheet (4x6, 6). Layouts are defined as data, so the Layout screen draws each card from the engine's /api/layouts.
• Wide is redesigned: one large hero photo plus two stacked close-ups, wordmark bottom left, event caption bottom right.
• Operator Mode > Event > Layouts offered: choose which layouts guests see (at least one, default all).
• Screens fit every layout: the Layout screen shows all cards without scrolling, Review handles 1 to 6 photos, and the Filter and Result previews scale the strip to a fixed container (portrait, landscape and tall) without cropping. The controls on the right stay put.
• Printing: two-up is for 2x6 strips only; 6x4 layouts print single and landscape on 4x6 paper, Contact Sheet prints single and portrait.
• Photos are cropped to each cell with a bias toward the top (heads), never discarding more than 12.5% per side.
• Repository: CHANGELOG.md, CONTRIBUTING.md, issue templates, new screenshots (guest, every operator panel, real compose output for each layout).
• Tests: 124 JUnit, 51 Vitest, 5 Node, 21 Playwright (including the installed app); the Playwright suite runs the full flow for all six layouts and measures the Filter and Result previews.

Install

1. Download VanDeBooth-Setup-2.1.1.exe and compare its hash with SHA256SUMS.txt (certutil -hashfile VanDeBooth-Setup-2.1.1.exe SHA256).
2. SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC" because the installer is not signed: click More info, then Run anyway.
3. Pick the install folder (per-user install, Desktop and Start Menu shortcuts). No separate Java install is needed. Install over 2.0.0 to upgrade.
4. Allow the firewall prompt on private networks so guests' phones can open the QR link.

Data stays in ~/VanDeBooth and %APPDATA%\VanDeBooth; uninstalling does not delete it.

Known limitations

• Not code-signed, so SmartScreen warns on first run. No auto-update.
• Windows x64 only.
• Payment is a demo only; there is no payment gateway and no real transactions.
• Sharing works only on the local network (the guest's phone must be on the booth Wi-Fi or hotspot).
• The shutter sound asset (shutter.wav) has an unknown source and license and is not used by the app; it must be replaced before commercial use.

• Filters: 3 (Normal, Grayscale, Vintage), not 2.
• Google Drive upload existed in v1.0.0 but has been removed in v2.0.0; v2 shares photos only over the local network.
