First public preview of ShareOS Desktop for Windows, Linux, and macOS.

Features

  • Automatic discovery of ShareOS boxes on the local network.
  • Secure login with certificate verification and optional saved certificate trust.
  • File browser with uploads, downloads, selection, copy/paste, rename, and delete.
  • File Drop uploads to your personal “File Drop” folder.
  • Access to available SMB network shares.
  • Local file backup snapshots with individual file restoration.
  • Administrator tools for backing up and restoring box settings.
  • Embedded administrator terminal.
  • Light and dark themes.

Downloads

Platform packages and SHA-256 checksums will appear under Assets once the automated builds finish:

  • Linux x64
  • Windows x64
  • macOS Apple Silicon
  • macOS Intel

Extract the package before launching. Rust is not required.

Preview notes

This is an early preview. Please report issues and include your operating system and relevant error messages.

Windows binaries are unsigned. macOS apps are ad-hoc signed and are not notarized.

ShareOS Desktop is a standalone application and does not modify the NAS firmware.
