Python SDK 0.4.0
0.4.0 — 2026-10-31
- Validate typed answers against request names, kinds, candidates and finite probability distributions. Raw
predictremains available. Malformed responses previously accepted now fail explicitly. - Add total request budgets, Retry-After with jitter, stable timeout/response errors and metadata-only event hooks.
- Add local loading stages, runtime information and representative-request warmup; document concurrency and ownership.
- Add versioned cross-language protocol/formula fixtures and installed-package smoke tests.
- Add native asynchronous LLM comparisons, optional probability normalization and provenance diagnostics. Missing token counts are unknown, not zero.
- Support borrowed httpx clients without transferring ownership; improve missing-answer lookup errors.
Compatibility: typed calls reject malformed responses; raw predict remains available. See contracts/README.md for timeout and resource ownership guarantees.
Valen Python SDK 0.3.0
Valen Python SDK 0.3.0 adds Valen.llm(provider, model): the same Decisions and SystemOne requests answered by an OpenAI-compatible, Anthropic or Gemini model, returning the same typed responses, so Valen and an LLM can be compared on the same questions with the same decision code. Usage includes tokens across retries and latency; every provider request and response is kept in debug["llm_attempts"]. Video inputs are sent as frames (valen-sdk[video], which now includes Pillow). No new base dependencies and no request/response schema change. See the README section "Compare with an LLM" and CHANGELOG.md.
Published on PyPI: https://pypi.org/project/valen-sdk/0.3.0/ through Trusted Publishing in https://github.com/Valen-Team/valen-sdk-python/actions/runs/40844916532 . The attached wheel and sdist are the PyPI files. The downloaded wheel passed SHA256 verification, its Python source matched tag v0.3.0, and installed in a clean environment it passed 42 contract tests (tests/test_server.py needs the server extra).
Install HTTP clients and Valen.llm with python -m pip install valen-sdk==0.3.0, or local CPU inference with python -m pip install "valen-sdk[onnx]==0.3.0". Verify SHA256SUMS. Test evidence: validation.json.
Valen Python SDK 0.2.0
Stable 0.2.0 GitHub distribution of the Valen HTTP and modular ONNX SDK. No request/response schema break from the 0.2.0 development API. See the bilingual README, CHANGELOG.md and RELEASING.md for installation, optional dependencies and backend-specific compatibility.
Packaged Python: 28 contract tests. Packaged JavaScript: 12 contract tests and TypeScript declarations checked. Both final distributions passed Linux CPU cached 0.8B ONNX FP32 text inference; Python stable/development baseline and JavaScript probabilities matched exactly. Prior media/CUDA/WebGPU evidence is reused separately, not generalized to untested platforms. Assets, licenses, metadata and credentials were checked before publication.
Python 0.2.0 is now published on PyPI: https://pypi.org/project/valen-sdk/0.2.0/ . Trusted Publishing succeeded in https://github.com/Valen-Team/valen-sdk-python/actions/runs/40286898341 . The PyPI wheel and sdist inventory was verified; the downloaded wheel passed SHA256 verification, matched this GitHub release Python source, installed offline with no dependency downloads, and passed 28 contract tests. PyPI and GitHub archive hashes are recorded separately because build metadata can differ. Install HTTP clients with python -m pip install valen-sdk==0.2.0, or local CPU inference with python -m pip install "valen-sdk[onnx]==0.2.0". JavaScript npm publication is separate and remains pending npm authorization.
Install this release using the GitHub artifact URL in README. Verify SHA256SUMS. Full test evidence: validation.json.
