CEF 156.0.15+gcf671c0+chromium-156.0.8078.80 for macosarm64, built by scripts/build-cef.sh with proprietary codecs (H.264/AAC) and scripts/cef-patches. Downloaded by scripts/fetch-cef.sh; not a Cra release.
Cra 0.1.33
Cra 0.1.33 for macOS 14 and later (Apple silicon). Release notes with clips: https://crabrowser.app/release-notes
Highlights
- Blank Window (#220): ⌃⌘N opens a window with a sidebar of its own, "This Window", with no spaces loaded; Move to… sends its tabs to a space, as in Arc.
- Drag a tab out of the window (#219): let go of a tab outside Cra and it opens in a new Blank Window where you dropped it.
- Arc's right-click menu: Chromium's own Mac menu with Arc's items, extension icons, Look Up, Writing Tools and Services.
- Links to apps open the app (#207): Spotify's "Open in Desktop app" asks "Open Spotify?" and opens the app instead of a blank tab.
- Auto spaces follow macOS again (#155): one colour or two. A space edited on 0.1.30–0.1.32 may need Auto picked once more in its theme editor.
- Peek (#221, #222): the page behind draws back as it fades, and the window keeps its shadow, traffic lights and resizable edges.
Added

- A click opens a closed folder that keeps its open tab in sight (#213, @STRENCH0)
- A collapsed pinned section keeps the last pinned tab in sight after a favorite is picked
- Shipped-issue tests are hash-locked in
Tests/promises.lock - CEF cef-156.0.15-codecs16

- A middle click on a page, split panes included, never closes a tab (#208, @yrshkd)
- Arc's GitHub live folder imports as a live folder that refreshes (#215, @madchap)

- An extension imported from another browser keeps its files until its Web Store copy is verified (#217, thank you @STRENCH0)
- An Arc sidebar that lists an item twice imports instead of crashing
- Cra writes nothing to a site's DevTools console

Cra 0.1.32
Cra 0.1.32 for macOS 14 and later (Apple silicon). Release notes with clips: https://crabrowser.app/release-notes
Highlights
- Peek grows out of the link (#204): the card starts as a picture of the link you clicked and closes back into it, as Arc's does. A new-tab link inside a Peek opens a tab in your space (#202).
- Actions on Tab (#195): ⌘T, then Tab on the empty bar, lists every action with its shortcut, the ones you use most first.
- A download folder per profile (#190): Settings ▸ Profiles ▸ Downloads, a folder or Ask Where to Save Each File.
- Meet's automatic picture-in-picture (#198): leaving a Meet call opens its picture-in-picture window, the way Arc and Chrome do it; tabs using the camera or microphone show the red dot.
- Picture in Picture over full-screen apps (#206), ⌥⌘N from any app and Capture scrolls (#195).
- Less GPU memory (#195): background tabs give their tiles back, about 40 % less with 20 tabs.

- ⌥⌘N opens a Little Window from any app, full-screen ones too, with a switch in Settings ▸ Tabs (#195, @Balajitechlabs)

- A red recording dot on tabs that use the camera or microphone, and tab sleeping leaves them alone (#198)
- Arc's icon picker (Emoji, Icon, Remove Icon) in Edit Space… (#205, @franvz9)
Changed
- Peek grows out of the clicked link and closes back into it (#204, @franvz9)
- A new-tab link inside a Peek closes the Peek and opens a tab right below the one it came from (#202, @franvz9)
- A tab dropped on a pinned tab offers a split view instead of a folder (#191, @yrshkd)
- The colour editor's swatches and knobs react to the pointer; Back to Pinned URL slides in (#189, @vrubzov1957)
- Capture lets the page scroll (#195, @Balajitechlabs)
- Background tabs give their GPU tiles back: 20 tabs, GPU process 386 → ~235 MB (#195, @Balajitechlabs)
- Imported Web Store extensions become the store's own installs and update from it (#203, @franvz9)
- The sidebar's blur is built like AppKit's (#156, @vrubzov1957)

- Settings shows extensions' translated descriptions, not
__MSG_keys (#200, thank you @DaddioTime)

Cra 0.1.31
Cra 0.1.31 for macOS 14 and later (Apple silicon). Release notes with clips: https://crabrowser.app/release-notes
Highlights
- Spotify, Netflix and Disney+ play (#66): their licence servers refuse Chromium without Google's paid Verified Media Path certificate (Disney+'s error 83, Spotify skipping tracks). Their players now open in Safari's engine inside Cra, where Apple's FairPlay plays them, in tabs, split view, Little Windows and Picture in Picture. More than twenty services are listed, and any other site that asks for DRM gets a Safari's Engine switch in the Site Control Center. What differs on those pages: https://crabrowser.app/help#protected-media
- Tidy Tabs on your Mac's Apple Intelligence: hover the Today divider with six tabs or more and Tidy sorts them under named groups. Settings ▸ Max also has Tidy Tab Titles and Tidy Downloads. Everything runs on the Mac, and the features show only with Apple Intelligence on.
- Extension side panels: MetaMask's button opens its wallet in a panel beside the page, as in Chrome (it did nothing before, in Cra and in Arc).
- Links in background tabs (#183): an opt-in in Settings ▸ Tabs; Open Link in New Tab leaves you on the page.
- Name a split view (#179): the row shows a pane count and the name, as in Arc.
- Developer Mode with the toolbar hidden (#185) and Little Windows over full-screen apps (#186).
Added
- DRM services open in Safari's engine and play with FairPlay (#66)
- A Safari's Engine switch in the Site Control Center for any site that asks for DRM
- Tidy Tabs, Tidy Tab Titles and Tidy Downloads on the Mac's Apple Intelligence, in Settings ▸ Max
- Arc's tidy titles for 52 sites on every tab
- Extension side panels (Michal Sambora)
- Open links in new tabs in the background (#183)
- Rename a split view (#179)
- Check for Updates… in the command bar and Shortcuts settings
Changed
- The command bar follows macOS's light or dark, as Arc's (#187)
- Developer Mode shows its bar with the toolbar hidden (#185)
- Little Windows open over another app's full-screen window (#186)
- Picture in Picture follows two fingers smoothly and keeps the pointer on it
- A collapsed space header keeps its icon and shows the chevron on hover
- Dark-theme folders keep Cra's earlier colour, now opaque
Fixed
- A tab closed with DevTools open closes its page even when the page asks "Leave site?"
- The empty favorites card shows its top dashed edge
- CraCore's tests compile with Xcode 27.2 (#179)
Thank you, @gritsp and @DaddioTime (#66), @qbattersby (Quinn Battersby: #183), @vrubzov1957 (Wladimir: #187) and @Balajitechlabs (#185, #186) for the issues, @jake-dev-99 (Jake Allen) for #179, and Michal Sambora for the report on X.

Cra 0.1.30
Cra 0.1.30 for macOS 14 and later (Apple silicon). Release notes with clips: https://crabrowser.app/release-notes
Highlights
- Capture, as in Arc: ⇧⌘2, or the camera in the Site Control Center, greys the page and rings the element under the pointer. Click to take that element or drag to take a region, then Copy, Save…, Send via iMessage… or Retake from the menu beside it. Asked for by Haseeb Rizvi on X.
- Drag favorites into place (#176): the other tiles slide aside to open a slot under the pointer, across rows too, and a tab dragged in from the list opens a slot the same way.
- Arc's colour picker, everywhere (#170): Edit Space shows the same editor as Edit Theme Color…, with Arc's own presets on five pages. A new space starts on one colour, and changes preview live and are written on Save.
- Split panes like Arc's (#178): the focused pane carries the full bar inside Arc's ring, the others show it on hover, the bars stay with the toolbar hidden, and the panes cast Arc's shadow.
- Little Windows keep their sign-ins (#172): a Little Window opens in the profile of the space used last and keeps it. Once you have more than one profile, its address shows the profile and can load the page in another one.
- 37 % less memory at 20 tabs: tabs no longer preload Chrome's hidden address-bar popup, which Cra never shows.
- Menus that follow macOS (#171): right-click menus, sheets, alerts, popovers and the Site Control Center follow macOS's light or dark, not the space colour.
Added
- Capture: click an element or drag a region, then copy, save or send it (Haseeb Rizvi)
- A profile chip in a Little Window's address to show and change its profile (#172)
cra://open?url=…&space=<id>opens a link in that space, andlittle=1in its profile (#168)- Two fingers throw Picture in Picture into a screen corner (Abhi Kanani)
- A justfile with one recipe per development script (#169)
Changed
- Favorites reorder by dragging, with the tiles moving aside live (#176)
- Edit Space uses Arc's colour editor and presets; one colour by default; live preview, written on Save (#170)
- Split panes: full bar and Arc's ring on the focused pane, hover reveals the rest, bars with the toolbar hidden, Arc's shadow (#178)
- Little Windows open in the profile of the space used last and keep it; Peeks use their tab's profile (#177, #172)
- Menus, sheets, alerts, popovers and the Site Control Center follow macOS's appearance (#171)
- Pinned extensions move to a row above the favorites when the sidebar's address runs out of room (Marc-André Julien)
- Chromium's language follows macOS, so speech without a set language gets a matching voice (#167)
- The command bar follows the space's light or dark, folders take Arc's opaque tones on dark themes, and a split of a pinned video tab puts the pinned tab to sleep (Abhi Kanani)
- Tabs no longer preload Chrome's hidden address-bar popup: 37 % less memory at 20 tabs
Fixed
- Shortcuts turned on in macOS Keyboard settings, such as ⌘Space to switch input sources, work while a page has focus (#174)
- Shift + wheel pages spaces the right way with natural scrolling (#93)
- No matte or sharp sidebar flash while a window comes back from the Dock (#156)
- The command bar's glow stays on the bar near the top of the screen (Abhi Kanani)
Thank you, @Anoninz (#93, #167, #172, #174), @vrubzov1957 (Wladimir: #156, #169, #170, #171, #178), @Vidhanth (#168) and @yrshkd (#176) for the issues, and Haseeb Rizvi, Marc-André Julien and Abhi Kanani for the reports on X.
Cra 0.1.29
Cra 0.1.29 for macOS 14 and later (Apple silicon). Release notes with clips: https://crabrowser.app/release-notes
Highlights
- Peek, built like Arc's (#166, #173, #175): Shift-click a link, or click a link to another site in a pinned tab or favorite, and it opens in a card over the dimmed page, with its own bar and Close, Expand and Add To Split beside it. It grows in and out on Arc's measured curves, drawn on Core Animation. Links inside it stay in it, ⇧⌘T brings back a Peek you just closed, and Add To Split from a pinned tab makes a new Today split and leaves the pinned tab alone.
- Space themes with a light and a dark half (#155): a space on Auto shows the half macOS asks for and switches live, as Arc's Auto themes do; an Arc import keeps both halves.
- Arc's space tooltip (#152): a space's profile and its ⌃ keys, in the space's own tones; every tooltip takes the focused space's tones.
- Drag to add Favorites (#157): Arc's card in a space with no favorites.
- Favorites shared by a profile (#154): Settings ▸ Tabs ▸ Spaces ▸ Share Favorites across Spaces with the same profile, off by default.
- Profiles the way Arc does them (#164): New Space starts on the focused space's profile; Spaces ▸ Change Profile; "Which Spaces should use this Profile?".
- Tab sleeping you can tune (#153): force tabs out of memory after a time (on at 4 hours) or when the Mac is short of memory (off); a sleeping tab keeps its history and scroll position, and a tab in a call stays awake.
Added
- Peek as a card with its own bar and Close, Expand and Add To Split (#166)
- ⇧⌘T right after closing a Peek brings it back (#173)
- Space themes on Auto have a light and a dark half that follow macOS (#155)
- Share Favorites across Spaces with the same profile, off by default (#154)
- Arc's "Drag to add Favorites" card in a space with no favorites (#157)
- Spaces ▸ Change Profile and "Which Spaces should use this Profile?" (#164)
- A Share button on the "Copied Current URL" toast (#166)
- Settings ▸ Tabs ▸ Tab Cleanup: force tabs out of memory after a time, or when the Mac is short of memory (#153)
Changed
- Peek opens and closes on Arc's curves, drawn on Core Animation (#173, #175)
- A same-site link that opens a new tab, and window.open, peek from a pinned tab, as in Arc (#173)
- Add To Split from a pinned tab makes a new split in Today and leaves the pinned tab alone (#173)
- The space tooltip shows the space's profile and ⌃ keys; every tooltip takes the space's tones (#152)
- New Space starts on the focused space's profile (#164)
- A sleeping tab keeps its history and scroll position; a tab in a call stays awake (#153)
- The sidebar follows Reduce transparency like Arc (#156)
- Shift-click in a Little Window opens the link there; ⇧⌘C shows the toast (#165)
- Chromium engine build cef-156.0.15-codecs11
Fixed
- Closing Picture in Picture with its ✕ left the video playing (#165)
- The command bar's glow sat below the bar after Tab emptied the list (#165)
- Three sidebar refreshes per theme change instead of one (#156)
Thank you, @vrubzov1957 (Wladimir: #152, #153, #156, #157), @neolytic (#154, #155), and Abhi Kanani on X for the Peek, Picture in Picture, command bar and Little Window reports.
