  Restore skin previews and live appearance changes in newer Codex builds after their settings API changed, while retaining support for older versions.
• Windows 更新下载：修复部分企业代理及证书环境中检查更新成功、下载却立即失败的问题；下载文件缺失或为空时给出明确失败结果。
  Fix updates that pass the version check but fail immediately during download in some enterprise proxy and certificate environments. Missing or empty downloads now fail explicitly.
• 安装目录恢复提示：目录替换失败后提示完全退出 Codex、检查写入权限，并在详情中显示源路径和目标路径，便于处理权限或文件占用问题。
  When an install directory cannot be replaced, explain how to quit Codex and check write permissions, with source and destination paths available in the details.
• Windows 图标：修正便携启动器误用管理器图标的问题，并修复旧 ChatGPT.lnk 的无效图标引用，保留快捷方式的其他属性。
  Use the official Codex icon instead of the Manager icon in portable launchers, and repair invalid icon references in legacy ChatGPT.lnk shortcuts while preserving their other properties.
• 旧 macOS 兼容提示：最新版 Codex 需要更高系统版本时，明确显示不兼容状态并引导选择兼容版本，避免误报检查失败或推荐已知不受支持的历史版本。
  Show a clear compatibility state and guide users to a compatible release when the latest Codex requires a newer macOS version, instead of reporting a check failure or recommending known unsupported builds.
• GitHub 限流提示：识别 Windows 更新检查中的 GitHub API 限流，显示可重试时间并暂停该路线的重复请求，镜像清单仍可访问。
  Recognize GitHub API rate limits during Windows update checks, show when to retry, and pause repeated requests on that route while keeping mirror manifests accessible.

Tauri updater signatures in .sig / latest.json verify update files and do not establish Windows publisher identity. The SignPath Foundation application is no longer being pursued; the project is moving to a paid cloud-HSM certificate, and releases stay unsigned until one is configured.
