Auto Sort v0.1.1

Better category names. If you already have v0.1.0 installed, Zotero will update the plugin automatically.

Improvements

• Fewer vague names. Academic filler words and phrases such as "underlying", "current knowledge" and "give rise", as well as adverbs like "functionally", are no longer used as category names.
• Phrases stay together. When two single-word labels form a common phrase, they are merged. For example, "Genome · Assembly" now becomes "Genome Assembly", and "Arabidopsis · Thaliana" becomes "Arabidopsis Thaliana".
• The improvement is most noticeable in smaller collections. For example, a 199-item collection now gets names such as "Stem Cell · Apical Meristem" and "Vascular · Secondary Growth".

Install

Download auto-sort-0.1.1.xpi below. In Zotero, open Tools → Plugins, click the gear icon, choose Install Add-on From File…, and select the file. Requires Zotero 7 or later; tested on Zotero 10.0.6.

改进

• 减少空泛的名称： 不再用学术套话（如 "underlying"、"current knowledge"、"give rise"）和副词（如 "functionally"）做分类名。
• 词组不再被拆开： 两个单词标签能组成常见词组时会自动合并，例如 "Genome · Assembly" 变为 "Genome Assembly"，"Arabidopsis · Thaliana" 变为 "Arabidopsis Thaliana"。
• 对文献较少的分类改进最明显。例如一个 199 篇的分类，现在会得到 "Stem Cell · Apical Meristem"、"Vascular · Secondary Growth" 这样的名称。

Auto Sort v0.1.0

First release. Auto Sort scans your Zotero library (or a single collection), suggests topic categories, and files items into new subcollections. Your existing collections are never changed.

Features

• Local only. Categories are computed on your computer with TF-IDF and spherical k-means. Nothing is sent over the network.
• You choose. Check the categories you want, rename them, and preview their items before anything is created.
• Safe. New subcollections go under an Auto-Sorted parent collection. Items are only added, never removed, and running it again does not create duplicates.
• Three ways to open it: the toolbar button above the item list (three stacked folders), Tools → Auto Sort Library…, or right-click a collection → Auto Sort Items Here…
• Bilingual interface (English / 中文), switchable in the dialog.

Install

1. Download auto-sort-0.1.0.xpi below.
2. In Zotero, open Tools → Plugins, click the gear icon, choose Install Add-on From File…, and select the file.

Requires Zotero 7 or later. Tested on Zotero 10.0.6.

Auto Sort v0.1.0

首个版本。Auto Sort 扫描你的 Zotero 文库（或单个分类），推荐主题分类，并把文献归入新建的子分类。原有分类不会被改动。

功能

• 纯本地运行： 用 TF-IDF 和球面 k-means 在你的电脑上计算分类，不联网，不上传任何数据。
• 由你决定： 勾选想要的分类、修改名称、预览包含的文献，确认后才会创建。
• 安全： 新分类统一放在 Auto-Sorted 父分类下。只添加文献，不删除；重复运行不会产生重复分类。
• 三种打开方式： 文献列表上方的工具栏按钮（三个叠放的文件夹）、工具 → 自动分类文献…、右键分类 → 自动分类此处文献…
• 中英双语界面，可在对话框中切换。
