Greek God Life Tracker 1.1.0

@github-actions github-actions released this 20 Sep 09:24

What's new

  • Display settings. Under Settings there's now a Display section: a text-size slider, an interface-scale slider that zooms the whole main window, a compact mode for task rows, and switches for the geometric background and the Greek labels beside menu items. Reduced motion and tooltips live there too.
  • Second launches behave. Starting the app while it's already running now brings the existing window forward instead of failing. (1.0.0 crashed on a second launch because the global shortcut was already taken.)
  • Shortcut conflicts are tolerated. If another program owns Ctrl+Shift+Space, the app starts anyway and notes it in the log.

First release.

A desktop life tracker that lives in your system tray. Every task belongs to one of 26 Greek gods, who appears in the corner of your screen when it's due, is pleased when you finish, and waits for you when you don't. Streaks never reset to zero. Everything stays on your machine.

Linux needs webkit2gtk 4.1 and libayatana-appindicator; the packages declare them.

What's in it

  • Tasks with a god attached, chosen by area of life or guessed from what you type
  • Overlay reminders that never take focus, with quiet hours, a per-hour cap, snooze and Do Not Disturb, and a fallback to system notifications
  • One-off, deadline, recurring and timed-block tasks; recurrence on any schedule
  • Catch-up after sleep: six missed reminders become one
  • Streak columns with banked freezes; a missed day pauses, it never wipes
  • One-click completion followed by the seal ritual and the god's triumphant portrait
  • Calendar with recurring tasks projected forward, and a journal page per day with a mood mark
  • Thirteen working productivity tools: Eisenhower, ABCDE, MoSCoW, Pareto, Big Rocks, Pomodoro, Eat the Frog, two-minute rule, time blocking, biological prime time, GTD, SMART goals, Seinfeld chain
  • Planetary hours from your sunrise and sunset (or wake and bed times), isopsephy for every title, planetary magic-square sigils, sound tuned to A=432
  • 130 portraits, five per god
  • Built-in help (the Oracle) and tooltips on everything
  • No accounts, no sync, no tracking

Known limits

  • No AppImage yet; use the tarball on distros without deb, rpm or pacman.
  • Windows builds are from the GitHub runner and lightly tested. Report anything odd.
  • macOS isn't built. The code should run there but nobody has tried.
