Release list
1.12.12
New since 1.12.10 (same signing key: installs over 1.12.8–1.12.10, no uninstall needed; reboot after updating).
- New option "Dim the monitor with the light sensor" (Monitor section, off by default). Android can't change an external monitor's backlight (no DDC/CI access on stock kernels, and most monitors don't expose brightness over USB), so the module darkens the picture in software: a transparent black layer on the monitor that follows the phone's ambient light sensor with a smooth fade. Full picture from about 200 lux, only a little dimming under normal indoor light, most of it in a really dark room.
- Slider "Maximum dimming in the dark" (10–90%, default 50%).
- Tip: set the monitor's own brightness to a medium-low level and let the module handle the rest. The diagnostic report shows the current lux and dimming (
auto-dim:line).
1.12.10
New since 1.12.8 (same signing key: installs over 1.12.8, no uninstall needed; reboot after updating).
Main switch at the top of the module's settings ("Module enabled"). Off: the monitor goes back to mirroring, the phone screen and the dock go back to normal, and every hook lets HyperOS behave as stock, without a reboot and without touching LSPosed. Desktop mode is fully stock again after reconnecting the monitor or rebooting. The Monitor tile and the diagnostics line show when the module is off.
New option "Don't open HyperOS's own desktop on the monitor" (Dock section, off by default). Keeps the stock Xiaomi desktop (SecondaryDisplayLauncher) off the monitor and closes it if it is already open. Try it if the phone's gestures stop working after you change the monitor's density or scale. The dock and your apps are not affected.
Simplified Chinese translation.
Thanks to @oldbkroll, whose fork had the first version of these three ideas.
1.12.8
Unplug the monitor and uninstall the old HyperDesktop Unlock.
Install this APK.
LSPosed → Modules → enable HyperDesktop Unlock with scope System Framework, System UI, Settings, then reboot.
The module's settings start from the defaults. If the old version is still installed, the new settings app shows a warning with a button to uninstall it.
No functional changes since 1.12.7.
