Lunelio 1.0.1
What's changed
- Validate the local bridge Host header to help prevent DNS rebinding attacks.
Installation
Download Lunelio-1.0.1.dmg, open it, and drag Lunelio to Applications. See the installation guide if macOS blocks the app.
This build is locally signed and has not been notarized by Apple. macOS may require a one-time approval.
Lunelio 1.0.0
Lunelio’s first stable release adds automatic light mode while keeping the existing dark appearance.
What’s new
- Small, medium, and large widgets now follow your Mac’s light or dark appearance automatically.
- Light surfaces, readable dark text, album-art fades, and contrasting green controls and menus.
- Clearer connection status in Settings.
- About 80% lower combined app and helper CPU usage in a short Chrome playback test. Results vary by Mac; RAM use was broadly unchanged.
- The Chrome helper exits when the last Spotify tab closes and reconnects automatically. Background polling stops when no player is connected.
- Recognizable Lunelio, LunelioWidget, and LunelioBridge process names.
- Updated README, widget previews, and installation instructions. The app, widget, and Chrome connector share version 1.0.0.
Install
Download Lunelio-1.0.0.dmg, open it, and drag Lunelio to Applications. Requires macOS 14 or later; includes Apple silicon and Intel binaries. No Xcode or API key is required.
Spotify Desktop: connect it in Lunelio Settings and approve the macOS Automation request. No browser extension is needed.
Spotify in Chrome: load the bundled connector from Lunelio Settings, reload Spotify, and start a song. Reload Spotify tabs again after connector updates. A freshly reopened tab may need one Play click inside Spotify before widget playback controls work.
The app is locally signed and not Apple-notarized. See the installation guide for setup and macOS security prompts. Clean-Mac installation, Intel runtime behavior, and long-session memory use still need verification.
Validation
Passed 14 Swift regression tests and 12 build-script tests. All three widget sizes were checked in both appearances, and 12 static dark-mode comparisons matched the previous UI pixel for pixel. The universal installer and SHA-256 checksum were verified.
Lunelio 0.1.2-beta
A maintenance update for Lunelio’s small, medium, and large macOS widgets, with Spotify Desktop and the Spotify web player in Chrome.
Changes
- Request fresh widget content when Lunelio starts or reopens.
- Refresh the widget after development rebuilds to prevent an older process leaving the desktop display frozen.
- Updated the README with a desktop screenshot, clearer setup instructions, and current download links.
- The app, widget, and Chrome connector now share version 0.1.2-beta.
Install or update
Download Lunelio-0.1.2-beta.dmg, quit an older Lunelio copy, and drag Lunelio to Applications. Open it from Applications. If you use the Chrome connector, reload it in chrome://extensions, then reload the Spotify tab.
This beta is locally signed and not notarized. See the installation guide for setup and macOS security approval. The installer includes Apple silicon and Intel binaries; clean-Mac installation and Intel runtime testing remain pending.
Lunelio 0.0.6-beta
- Restart a song at 0:00 by clicking the start of the widget’s progress bar.
- Seek in 10% steps, from 0% through 100%, in small, medium, and large widgets.
- Works with Spotify Desktop and the Spotify web player in Chrome.
Updating: Replace the app with this version. Chrome users should reload the Lunelio connector and Spotify tab once.
This is a beta release with local signing; Apple notarization is still pending.
Lunelio 0.0.5-beta
Lunelio 0.0.5-beta brings a new large widget, refreshed layouts, and sharper album artwork.
What's new
- Large widget: album-cover background, larger playback controls, and the same inline Settings and Open Spotify menu.
- Medium widget: a full-height cover beside the song details, progress bar, and playback controls.
- Small widget: album artwork as the background, with room for two-line song titles.
- Sharper Chrome artwork: the connector prefers larger covers when available, with a thumbnail fallback.
- Consistent menus: plain three-dot buttons across all sizes, with readable text and controls over album artwork.
Install or update
Download Lunelio-0.0.5-beta.dmg, open it, and drag Lunelio to Applications. Quit an older copy before replacing it, then open the updated app.
Add a widget from Edit Widgets → Lunelio. All three sizes are available on the desktop and in Notification Center. Close and reopen the picker if the large size is missing.
If you use the Chrome connector, reload it in chrome://extensions, then reload Spotify's web player or installed Chrome web app. Spotify Desktop does not need a browser extension.
Beta notes
- Requires macOS 14 or later; includes Apple silicon and Intel binaries.
- The app is locally signed and not notarized by Apple. Read the installation guide for macOS security approval.
- All 14 regression checks pass. Clean-Mac installation, Intel runtime behavior, and restart recovery still need testing.
The .sha256 file provides the installer checksum. Full history: CHANGELOG.md.
