NERV 0.7.1 — Development release for testing
Windows users: use 0.7.2, which fixes a journal flush error that blocked tasks in 0.7.1. Run nerv update after exiting NERV. The 0.7.1 assets below remain unchanged.
NERV 0.7.1 is a development release for local testing. SO-101 physical acceptance and student onboarding trials are still pending. Windows, macOS and WSL hardware support remain experimental.
Install and start
Linux/macOS:
curl -fsSL https://github.com/Yanshi-Robotics/nerv/releases/latest/download/install.sh | shWindows PowerShell:
irm https://github.com/Yanshi-Robotics/nerv/releases/latest/download/install.ps1 | iexOpen a new terminal and run nerv. The default address is http://127.0.0.1:8170. Configuration and history remain under ~/.nerv. Python and package dependencies require network access.
Update
Exit the running NERV server, then run:
nerv update --check
nerv update
nerv --version
nervThe version command should report nerv 0.7.1. Updates stage the host and installed official modules together, preserve user data and retain a rollback snapshot. Use nerv rollback after exiting the server to restore the previous installation.
Older npm launchers that do not recognize update need the installer above once, followed by a new terminal. Subsequent updates use nerv update. The 0.7.1 npm compatibility launcher includes migration support; publishing a release cannot retroactively modify an older launcher.
Included
- Interaction, optional decision and local execution layers, with three user-selected control schemes.
- Fixed ACT tasks without API keys; visual policy supervision and bounded visual direct-control interfaces.
- Guided standard SO-101 discovery, calibration selection, dual-camera roles and persistent device profiles.
- External ACT import, strict native loading and synthetic inference checks without hardware motion.
- Independent LeRobot 0.6.1 and SO-101 simulation components. Three simulation scenes: pick and place, snack sorting and Tower of Hanoi.
- GitHub installers, prebuilt interface, dependency hashes, transactional updates and rollback.
Verification and limits
Linux local verification: 349 software tests, six launcher tests, static UI build, README checks, package integrity, isolated installation/update/rollback. Earlier native ACT CPU and simulation-rendering checks are software evidence only. No physical grasp, motor connection, paid VLM trial or novice-student acceptance is claimed. Cross-platform CI and native hardware validation are separate checks.
Starting NERV does not connect hardware or authorize movement. Use the operator setup and supervised acceptance flow for real-device testing. Models and training/calibration outputs are not included.
