Version 1.1.52, versionCode 55, November 2, 2026, following 1.1.51 (54). PR #145 carries 27a598c; the signed bundle zennotes-1.1.52-vc55.aab (40,087,173 bytes, SHA-256 58bd254a53bfccab3073cd92f70e957dfcb89f8837e7e3087375590b181baeb6) was built from that commit, whose tree equals that of tag v1.1.52 (3f670779, the merge of #145).

What changes on the phone

  • Tasks can repeat (ZenNotes/zennotes#1036). Long-press a task, Repeat… (or type @repeat:weekly, monthly, 2d, mon/thu, after-3d): checking it off writes the next one with its new date and its subtasks unticked, and keeps the finished line below. Skip this time moves it on without doing it. Remind… adds @remind: and a bell; the desktop app delivers reminders, so the phone has no reminder settings.
  • New Kanban (ZenNotes/zennotes#1038). From New…, or long-press a folder in the drawer: a board of its own with To do, Doing and Done. Add cards in each column; long-press a card to move it.
  • Colors for Kanban columns (ZenNotes/zennotes#1037). Long-press a column's header, Color….
  • Folder fields you pick from (ZenNotes/zennotes#1033). Settings fields that name a folder list your folders as you type, and a field the keyboard would cover comes up above it.
  • The calendar's Week view steps a week at a time.
  • System Back closes the menu, sheet or prompt on top, and Back from a note opened from Tasks returns to Tasks.
  • Lists keep their bullets together, and ending a list leaves a blank line so the next sentence is its own paragraph.
  • Touch, not keyboard. No keyboard cursor, key hints or lit menu rows on the phone, and a tap no longer leaves a row tinted. The database Table keeps long names clear and opens a record page to read.
  • A database deleted outside the app closes its tab instead of stacking error toasts. On a tablet the formatting toolbar sits on the keyboard.

Under the hood

Core core-2.81.0-core.h4e6a38a3361b4748 was built by CI from ZenNotes/zennotes bfab9fdc, the desktop v2.81.0 tag; core:adopt checked SHA-256, SHA-512, packed versions and clean-source provenance. The bridge contract adds no method. The New sheet and the drawer's folder sheet gain New Kanban (core's createBrowseKanban). Shell fixes from the 2.81.0 walks: the calendar's Week arrows (calendar-week.ts), fields revealed above the keyboard outside the editor (field-keyboard-reveal.ts, the editor's own reveal untouched), system Back over menus, sheets and prompts (back-escape.ts), the tablet toolbar lift (keyboard-lift.ts), the board's Move to… column names, a long-pressed card no longer dimmed, a missing database answered as null like desktop main (database-open.ts), and the Table's hover Open, select column and page glyph (mobile.css, read-open.ts, byte-identical with the iPhone shell's).

Source: branch release/1.1.52 from main da8df9e: 014bbac (core 2.81.0), refreshed to the shipping core in d4c08f7, the walk fixes 8eff8f1 to df1d830, and 27a598c (1.1.52, versionCode 55).

Validation

  • boundaries:check, npm run typecheck, 495 JavaScript tests, npm run build and npx cap sync android passed on core 2.81.0; bundleRelease was signed with the upload key on JDK 21, and the bundle reads md.zennotes 55 / 1.1.52, min 24, target 36, with the same three permissions as 1.1.51.
  • CI on #145: the build job (TypeScript, package boundary, Android build with lint) and the emulator launch job passed on 27a598c (run 41375598991).
  • The release build was walked on an Android 17 emulator with generic sample data before anything went to Play, on the candidate cores and again on the shipping core, recording ten clips: repeating tasks, Skip and Remind, New Kanban from the New sheet and from a folder, column colors, the folder picker, lists, the Week arrows, system Back, and the deleted-database fix. The walks found the board's dimmed card and raw column names, the Week arrows, the half-covered Settings field, system Back over menus, the tablet toolbar, the database toast storm and the Table's overlaps; each was fixed with a test and walked again on the final build.

How to test locally

  1. npm ci && npm run build && npx cap sync android, then open android/ in Android Studio and run on a device or emulator.
  2. Write - [ ] Water the plants @repeat:weekly with an indented - [ ] under it. In Tasks, tick it: next week's copy appears above, its subtask unticked, and the done line stays below.

  4. Long-press a folder in the drawer, New Kanban: the board lands in that folder.
  5. Settings, Tasks, Task folders: the field lists your folders; type part of one and pick it.
  6. Tasks, Calendar, Week: the arrows move a week. Open a task's note from Tasks and press Back: you are back on Tasks.
  7. In a note type - one, Enter, two, Enter, Enter, then a sentence: it sits under a blank line and reads as its own paragraph in Read mode.
