Pages are turned the right way up, and scans are harder to lose.
- Reading direction: a sheet fed upside down or sideways is turned the right way up, judged by its text. Pages without text, such as photos, stay as they came.
- Settings, new tab „Info“: about Scanr (version, copyright, licence), links to help, privacy policy, source code and support, and „Nach Update suchen“ (check for updates), which opens the latest release on GitHub in your browser. Scanr itself still has no network code.
- The last result stays in the menu below the status, so you see it even with notifications switched off.
Fixes from an audit:
- If text recognition fails on a page, the page goes into the PDF without a text layer and the message says so. Before, the whole batch was lost.
- An output folder Scanr cannot write to is caught before the sheets are fed, not after the whole batch.
- A PDF that could not be written completely (for example a full disk) is reported instead of being announced as saved.
- Long receipts at a steep angle are cropped correctly again.
- Folders on network drives with decomposed umlauts are counted correctly when numbering files.
- A profile name can no longer be left empty, and is limited to 40 characters.
- VoiceOver labels for the profile buttons; the „open at login“ switch stays on while macOS waits for approval.
Requires macOS 26 or later and a ScanSnap iX500 connected by USB. Quit ScanSnap Home before using Scanr.
The DMG is signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple.
