1.0.20

@aabulkhairov aabulkhairov released this 14 Oct 10:32

Error reports no longer include file names, and a save that briefly lost a race to another device is no longer counted as an error. See the in-app “What's new” for details.

@aabulkhairov aabulkhairov released this 12 Oct 07:57

Far fewer conflict files (smarter merging of concurrent edits), renames and moves no longer re-upload, near-instant sync between devices, much faster uploads on large vaults, and several reliability fixes. See the in-app “What's new” for details.

@aabulkhairov aabulkhairov released this 18 Sep 15:48

Re-linking the same vault no longer resets the sync index, which used to leave a pile of (conflict …) copies behind after a log out or re-link. Telegram login codes are easier to find and no longer fail with a confusing error when pasted into the email field.

Release 1.0.17. See the in-app “What's new” for details.

@aabulkhairov aabulkhairov released this 24 Jul 13:42

Pause sync cleanly when out of storage. When your vault runs out of storage, Syncian now pauses auto-sync instead of retrying every file every cycle; press "Sync now" to resume after freeing space or upgrading.

1.0.14

@aabulkhairov aabulkhairov released this 09 Jul 07:03

Fixes the automated review failure that blocked 1.0.13: the "What's new" popup rendered its markdown with the plugin instance as the owning component instead of the modal itself, leaking a small amount of state on every open (Obsidian's plugin review flagged this as a memory-leak Error). No user-facing change — same release-notes popup, just scoped correctly now.

1.0.13

@aabulkhairov aabulkhairov released this 08 Jul 05:43

New: release notes after updates. Syncian now shows a short popup summarizing what changed whenever you update — no more guessing what a new version does. Off switch in Settings → Syncian, and a "Syncian: What's new" command to reopen it any time.

This popup will surface the auto-merge and plugin/settings sync features from recent releases for anyone updating from an older version, plus the retry-backoff fix from 1.0.12.

1.0.12

@aabulkhairov aabulkhairov released this 06 Jul 12:19

Fixes a real production issue: a sync that kept failing (e.g. a file permanently over the plan's size/quota limit, or a device on a weak connection) would retry immediately with zero delay, forever — hammering the server and draining battery for no benefit.

  • Backoff on repeated failures. A chained retry after a failed sync now waits progressively longer (2s, 4s, 8s… up to 60s) instead of firing instantly. A single clean sync resets it back to instant.
  • Stop retrying permanent errors. A file that's over the plan's per-file size limit or storage quota is no longer retried every cycle — it's remembered until the file itself changes or you explicitly hit "Sync now" (e.g. right after upgrading your plan).

1.0.11

@aabulkhairov aabulkhairov released this 05 Jul 11:12
  • Auto-merge for concurrent edits. When the same note is edited on two devices, non-overlapping changes now merge automatically into one file instead of leaving a "(conflict)" copy. Overlapping edits and non-text files still get a conflict copy.
  • Sync plugins & settings (optional). New toggle in Settings → Syncian: syncs your .obsidian folder — plugins, themes, snippets, settings — across your devices through the same end-to-end encryption. Off by default. Your login and passphrase are never uploaded, and window layout stays per-device.
  • Files whose names contain characters Obsidian can't write are now skipped and listed once, instead of erroring on every sync.

1.0.9

@aabulkhairov aabulkhairov released this 04 Jul 16:03

Fixes a real bug: if you installed the plugin and connected your account within the same Obsidian session (the normal first-run flow — install, log in, link a vault, no restart), auto-sync's file-watch listeners and fallback timer never got registered at all until the next full restart. Now they're always registered and start working immediately once you connect.

Also: opt-out anonymous error reporting (on by default, toggle in Settings — never includes note content or file names), and the sync interval setting is now in seconds (15–3600, default 300) instead of whole minutes.
