v1.0.1 — Video Studio Skill
Bug-fix release. The documented path from a fresh clone to a finished video now works.
Fixes
- New videos: the compose step used
hyperframes init, which refuses a folder that already holds the capture, so it failed for every new video. Projects now start fromtemplates/composition.html. example-walkthroughsilent render: the README stopped atrender-qa.shbecauseindex.htmlreferences a narration mix that only exists after step 3. It now creates a silent track first.capture.sh: installsplaywright-cliunder.pw/even when a parent folder has apackage.json, and shows npm errors instead of hiding them.
Offline checks now guard these documented steps, because renders stay out of CI.
Install
git clone --branch v1.0.1 --depth 1 https://github.com/aaitor/skill-video-studio.git
cd skill-video-studio
claudeValidation
Run from a fresh clone with Node 24 and hyperframes 0.9.5:
- The
example-walkthroughREADME steps ran verbatim: capture, silent render, narrated cut with a local TTS endpoint, and thumbnail. - A new project went through
SKILL.mdsteps 4 to 6. - Offline checks pass in CI on Python 3.10 and 3.12.
The live Claude Code quick start was not rerun for this release. Avatars, the multi-environment example and macOS were not tested.

Validation and requirements
Offline checks cover documentation links, SVG/JSON/YAML, Python/shell/JavaScript syntax, brief fields, and a local WAV-generation smoke test. CI runs these checks on Python 3.10 and 3.12. The updated artwork was visually checked in Chromium.
Full capture/render and optional TTS/GPU integrations were not rerun for this release. Production requires your own local capture/render toolchain; optional services and presenter media require separate setup. Portrait/social output profiles remain on the roadmap. The README terminal demo demonstrates planning, not a completed render.
