TeXtra v0.2.1 Alpha for Windows
TeXtra is a local-first LaTeX workspace that brings source editing, writing tools, and PDF preview together in one desktop app.
This early Windows release includes:
- LaTeX source editing and a prose-focused Visual mode
- Local compilation with PDF preview and SyncTeX navigation
- Project browsing, document outlines, snippets, and file history
- Optional AI chat and autocomplete using your own API keys or a local Ollama server
Getting started
Download and run TeXtra Setup 0.2.1.exe below. To compile documents, install a TeX distribution such as MiKTeX or TeX Live separately.
This is an alpha release: features and workflows are still being tested and may change. The installer is unsigned, so Windows may display a publisher warning. Installation, upgrade, and uninstall workflows have not yet completed release verification. Keep backups of important projects and report any issues you encounter.
