Fotohaus 1.0.1

@aelnagish aelnagish released this 28 Oct 12:59

Fotohaus 1.0.1, a fast, private photo organizer for Apple Silicon Macs (macOS 14 or newer).

What's new

  • Mouse-wheel zoom in the Photo Viewer now works with every mouse, including smooth-scrolling mice and the Magic Mouse. The photo zooms around the pointer, and zooming out past the whole photo settles back on "fit".
  • Two-finger trackpad scrolling still pans a zoomed photo, and pinch still zooms.
  • The editor and the Places map use the same mouse-or-trackpad detection.

Download

Fotohaus-1.0.1-arm64.dmg below. Open it and drag Fotohaus into Applications (replace the old copy if asked).

With Homebrew: brew upgrade --cask fotohaus

First launch

Fotohaus isn't notarized by Apple yet, so macOS blocks it the first time:

  • If it says Fotohaus "is damaged and can't be opened", click Cancel (not Move to Trash), then run once in Terminal:
    xattr -cr /Applications/Fotohaus.app
  • If it says it "could not verify" Fotohaus, open System Settings ▸ Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.

Nothing is wrong with the app; this is how macOS treats apps from the internet that aren't notarized. Full steps: [INSTALL.md](../../blob/main/INSTALL.md).

License

Free software under the GNU GPL v3 or later. The source code of the GPL libraries inside the app (FFmpeg, x264, x265) is in fotohaus-1.0.1-gpl-sources.tar, attached below.
