FAQ
Where does the holiday data come from? From the open-source holidays library, pinned to an exact version. HolidayOps never copies or edits holiday data. If a holiday is wrong or missing, report it to that project; once fixed there, HolidayOps picks it up with the next library update.
Why is Friday a weekend day for some countries? Weekends differ: Saudi Arabia rests on Friday and Saturday, most of Europe on Saturday and Sunday. HolidayOps uses each country's own weekend rules from the library, including historical changes and weekend days moved to working days.
How are lunar holidays like Eid handled? They come from the library, which estimates dates that depend on a moon sighting. Some countries confirm them only days before. Add a custom day to your company calendar if the official date differs.
Does between include the start and end dates?
Yes, both ends are included.
What does add with days=0 return?
The start date if it is a working day, otherwise the next working day.
Is there a hosted version? Not yet. Hosting is planned for the public launch. Until then, run it locally or on your own server: Developer Setup, Self Hosting.
Is it free? The code is MIT licensed. The hosted service will have a Free plan with every feature and a Pro plan with higher limits; see API Quick Reference.
Which languages does it support? English, Urdu and Arabic, with right-to-left layouts. Holiday names come in every language the library supports for that country.
Can I use it without an account? Yes. The playground and the public API work anonymously (60 requests a minute). An account adds company calendars, feeds, digests, webhooks and API keys.
How do I report a security problem? Privately, as described in SECURITY.md.
