Accessibility: TalkBack, font size and feedback

[ahmmedrejowan]

PDF Reader Pro should work for everyone, including people who use a screen reader, large text or other accessibility settings. This is the place to report problems and share what would make the app easier to use for you.

What works today

The next release includes a full accessibility pass:

• TalkBack labels: every button and icon has a label. Decorative icons are skipped instead of being read as "Decorative image".
• Switches and checkboxes: settings, reader options and tool options are read as one item with their state, for example "Keep Screen On, switch, on".
• Selected options: zoom, theme, sort, view mode and tool choices say which one is selected. Color swatches are read by name.
• Headings: section titles are headings, so you can jump between sections.
• Live updates: search results ("3 of 12"), tool progress and results are announced as they change.
• Reading PDFs: the text and links of a PDF can be read by TalkBack. Scanned PDFs that are only images have no text to read.
• Text size: the app's text follows the system font size.

Known gaps

• Reordering pages is drag only.
• The page scrubber is a drag gesture; tap its thumb to open Jump to Page instead.
• Switch Access and keyboard navigation haven't been tested yet.

Tell us

If something is unlabeled, read wrongly, hard to reach or missing, reply here with:

• what you were doing (screen and button),
• what TalkBack (or your setting) said or did,
• your Android version and phone.
