🚀 Release 1.6.0 – May 2025

This release brings major improvements to image processing, timeout control, and tool integration. Most notably, pngquant is now built from source using Rust, and ImageMagick has enhanced support for large images.

✨ Features

  • Build pngquant 3.0.3 from source using Cargo

    • Replaced the Debian-provided binary with a custom build via Rust
    • Enabled lcms2 support for color profile handling
    • Installed the binary to /usr/local/bin
    • Added automated version test

  • Tool-specific timeout configuration via environment variables

    • Supported tools: ffmpeg, video, imagemagick, exiftool, pngquant
    • Timeout behavior can now be customized using environment variables (e.g. FFMPEG_TIMEOUT=1800)
    • Added usage documentation and example to the README

  • Improved ImageMagick resource limits and delegate access

    • Increased limits:
      • width & height: 20KP
      • area: 400MP
    • Whitelisted common delegates:
      • ffmpeg, inkscape, rsvg-convert, gs, tesseract, dot

  • Upgraded Ghostscript to version 10.05.1
