0.3.0-preview.20261027.1 — Windows x64 preview

Application-aware investigation with bounded, adaptive continuation.

  • Folder intake retains application inventory and the selected objective through application selection, readiness recovery, continuation and reopening.
  • Investigate adapts within its saved allowance. Continue automatically separately permits additional turns within the selected bound. Surface Pass remains a single bounded overview.
  • Read attempts, provider retries and inspection operations consume cumulative allowance. Explicit additional grants add allowance; resuming preserves the remainder. Stop retains completed findings.
  • Evidence-linked implementation modules are admitted only within the application folder after host identity and containment checks.
  • Portable documents preserve legitimate coverage identifiers containing feature labels; opaque action/message identifiers and archive validation retain their existing restrictions.
  • Includes Desktop Candidate saved evidence reading, evidence-aware map/Outline presentation and Agent Control work since the previous public package.

Validation: 945 source tests; native desktop and packaged export/open/fresh-reopen of an affected investigation with eight snapshots and nine coverage areas; seven controlled folder/selection/continuation/reopen/Surface Pass/additional-grant checks; clean local npm installation, launch/profile lock, real bundled REA JavaScript inspection, evidence/draft persistence and custom data paths.

One real folder-only application intake produced supported implementation tracing and stopped within its allowance. It did not resolve loading behavior or establish equivalent depth across applications. Controlled checks use owned fixtures and simulated reasoning; they do not establish real-provider quality. The broader integrated Agent Control camera/Save As/fresh-open acceptance gate has not achieved a complete pass; this release's export gate covers the affected document flow specifically.

Windows x64 only. AGPL-3.0-only; branding reservations unchanged. No private investigations, evidence, account settings or profiles are included.

Registry publication is pending npm account verification; the attached archive is the tested package.

0.3.0-preview.20261025.6

Windows x64 preview. Install the current public npm release:

npm install -g nodes-for-rea
nodes-for-rea

Close Nodes before updating. Saved investigations, evidence and settings live
outside the installed package. Back them up separately. Read README.md for
supported Node.js versions, agent setup and preview limitations.

Changes

  • Optional first-run welcome and four-step tour, with Back, Finish later and
resume from Settings → Help → Quick tour.
  • Explicit AI Start/Stop and evidence/save steps. Opening the tour does not
start a model request; using your selected agent may consume credits.
  • Graph JSON export derives a safe filename from the investigation title.
  • Complete editable application source, AGPL-3.0-only license, reserved-brand
policy, contribution terms and third-party notices are available publicly.

Distribution and verification

The attached nodes-for-rea-0.3.0-preview.20261025.6.tgz is the exact verified
npm package, not a standalone Windows installer. GitHub's generated source ZIP
and tar.gz archives contain the public source checkout. The earlier .1
standalone Windows ZIP remains available on its own older release.

Package SHA256:

a29d0ed1594f6336da41f4a15aaa22bbb6701604bef7b0bbe2732c74f4379554

The public checkout's runtime files and dependency lock match that npm package.
Repository-only documentation, development test files and npm start/test scripts
do not change the application runtime. SOURCE.md explains the source layout.

The full release source suite passed 837 checks. Installed-app verification
passed 15 tour groups, 8 upgrade/REA/retention groups and 3 native Save As filename
cases; a fresh registry installation passed all 15 tour groups again. The public
checkout has 827 checks, excluding internal investigation-record fixtures.

Verification used Windows 10 x64 and Node 22.22.0. REA JavaScript inspection and
storage checks were real; automated AI replies were controlled fixtures. This
does not establish live model quality, beginner usability, Windows 11 support,
physical microphone operation or broad native-provider acceptance. Review the
underlying evidence, particularly when sources contradict one another. npm does
not supply Windows publisher signing.

Nodes for REA — unsigned Windows preview

A visual workspace for exploring software with REA and your connected AI agent.

Download and start

  1. Under Assets, download Nodes-for-REA-0.3.0-preview.20261025.1-Windows-x64.zip. The automatic Source code archives are not the Windows app.
  2. Right-click the ZIP, choose Extract All, and keep the full extracted folder together.
  3. Open Nodes for REA.exe. Read START HERE.txt for connecting your AI account and keeping your work.

Unsigned preview: Windows may display Unknown publisher or SmartScreen warnings; some security configurations block unsigned applications. This app does not change those settings.

Included and required

Windows x64 app with Electron, Node, Codex CLI, REA core 6.5.0 and pinned Ghidra/JDK tools. No Node/npm installation required. AI account access, service usage and credits are not included. Optional local dictation requires an additional download.

Recent changes

  • Observed, Inferred and Unknown finding labels.
  • Agent goals up to 50,000 characters without silent clipping.
  • Restored pre-audit preset routing and Tidy behavior.
  • Earlier recovery, sidebar keyboard navigation and dictation changes.

Known limitations

This is an early preview, not a stable release. Conflicting sources can still produce overconfident AI conclusions; inspect supporting evidence. Some failure and callback diagnostics remain incomplete. This exact version is verified locally on Windows 10 x64; separate Windows 11 and live AI-account acceptance are not newly established. There is no general Nodes CLI/MCP interface or npm installer in this release.

Close the app and back up Data before moving/updating. For separate research documents use File > Save As (.reanodes). Credentials and original external targets may need reconnecting on another machine.

Validation

828 source tests passed. Exact extracted-package footer, sidebar, dictation and recovery checks passed; actual bundled REA inspected an owned JavaScript fixture with an isolated home/PATH. A separate owned portable copy passed normal reopen and folder relocation with saved research, draft, profile setting and evidence retained. AI UI/storage tests use deterministic responses; no new paid model or physical microphone claim.

SHA-256 (Nodes-for-REA-0.3.0-preview.20261025.1-Windows-x64.zip):

The checksum verifies bytes; it is not a publisher signature. Third-party licenses are included.
