We are excited to announce v1.2.0 of the User Data Collection plugin. This release focuses on improving data granularity, adding rigorous data management features, and expanding email configurations so snapshot receipts don't end up in your spam folder.

🚀 New Features

  • Custom Sender Identity for Backups: You can now natively specify a custom "Sender Email Address" (From) and "Sender Name" (From Name) directly in the Email Backups configuration. Automated .json email snapshots will no longer be forced to use the default wordpress@yourdomain.com alias.
  • Separated Zip Code & City Fields: By popular request, we’ve split the single "Zip Code, City" input into two distinct shortcode fields and database entry points: City and Zip Code (with a stylized shorter width). The database automatically migrates schema layouts upon updating.
  • Aggressive Data Sanitization (Factory Reset): We’ve introduced a new Advanced Tab within Settings featuring a critical Delete All Data process. In a single authenticated click, administrators can wipe all stored SQL submissions, permanently destroy all local .json backup artifacts, and reset plugin settings back to defaults.

💅 Enhancements & Administrative Changes

  • Updated Admin Details View: The backend inspector view for single submissions has been adjusted to cleanly display the new distinct City and Zip Code columns.
  • Refined Translation Pipelines: New automated fallback mechanisms and script definitions (update_translations.php) were implemented to drastically speed up dictionary patching.
  • AI Agent Developer Rules Update: AGENTS.md and README.md have been updated with strict directives that mandate UDC_DB_VERSION bumping and dbDelta triggers for any future structural schema evolutions.

🌍 Internationalization (i18n)

  • Updated String Catalogs: Full translation synchrony established for the newly created string definitions (label_zip, label_city) across French (fr_FR), Spanish (es_ES), German (de_DE), and Italian (it_IT).
  • .po and .mo binary catalogs have been completely re-compiled to support native localization.

⚙️ Under The Hood

  • Safe triggers put in place for dbDelta hook processing upon plugin version mismatch detection (v1.2.0 -> v1.3.0 transition).
  • Minor tweaks to form flex-layout limits.
