Fixed
defaults.retry_failed_tests now does something (it was read but never applied) and its default is 0: a failing test is re-run up to that many extra times, also probe test --retry-failed N; a pass on a retry is reported (passed on attempt N, attempts in JSON).
Added
within N seconds|ms on a step (tap, type, see, wait, system dialog, response steps): its own timeout and implicit-wait window, e.g. wait until "Report ready" appears within 90 seconds. New guide "Timeouts, waiting and retries" explaining every layer (step timeout, implicit wait, within, optional/if visible, retry N times, retry_failed_tests).
Backend awareness (agent 0.22+):wait for response GET "/api/orders" [status 200], see response <ref> status N | contains "x" | json "path" equals "v" | json "path" exists, store response <ref> json "path" as var, if response <ref> <check> (+ otherwise), see exactly N requests <ref> / see no requests <ref>, clear recorded requests. References are [METHOD] "path-with-*" or a full URL. Failures list the app's recent requests. New guide "Testing against backend data". EBNF + conformance tests (wait-response-step, see-response-step, store-response-step, see-requests-step, clear-requests-step).
when the app calls mocks are now real (they used to be recorded but never applied): the app's dart:io client receives the status/body, after N seconds delays it, respond with network failure drops the connection; patch/head/options methods; they last one test and are re-applied after restart the app.
