@alvarogonzalezferrer alvarogonzalezferrer released this 18 Sep 00:11

v 2026.09.17 -- 17 of September 2026

⚠️ ⚠️ VERY IMPORTANT ⚠️ ⚠️
Make sure you enabled "adb debugging" on your device.
On some devices, you also need to enable an additional option to control it using keyboard and mouse.

Enjoy! ❤️

Fixed

  • Launching scrcpy no longer opens a visible console window.
  • The launcher now waits for scrcpy to close and checks its exit code
    instead of returning immediately.
  • scrcpy exit codes now show a plain-language description (failed
initial connection, device disconnected mid-session, etc.) instead
    of just a raw number.
  • Fixed a bug where enabling both UHID keyboard and UHID mouse would
silently overwrite one option with the other — both can now be
    used together.
  • Removed unused empty command-line arguments that could confuse
scrcpy's argument parsing in certain option combinations.
  • Fixed "Access Denied" error when saving settings: the config file
is now stored in %APPDATA%, which is always writable regardless of
    where the app is installed.
  • Fixed the "Select scrcpy" file dialog opening in the wrong folder —
it now opens in the install folder (or the previously configured
path) instead of a random location.
  • Fixed the Windows installer not packaging the application files
    correctly.
  • Fixed the installer's silent removal of a previous installed
version, which was not actually running.
  • Installer shortcuts (Desktop / Start Menu) are now created for all
users, consistent with the machine-wide installation.
  • Fixed install/update and uninstall failing when adb.exe was still
running in the background — it's now terminated automatically
before files are overwritten or removed.

Added

  • The launcher now remembers the configured scrcpy path between
sessions (no need to reconfigure it every time you open the app).
  • Optional "Remove saved settings" component in the uninstaller
(checked by default), so you can choose whether to wipe your
configuration or keep it for a future reinstall. Automatic
version upgrades always preserve your settings.
  • Installer builds are now dated
    (scrcpy_light_launcher_YYYY_MM_DD_INSTALLER.exe), making it easy
to identify which build you're running.
  • Custom installer/uninstaller icon.
  • Registry keys now live under a proper vendor namespace.

Docs

  • Rewrote and reorganized the README: added a Features section,
clarified that scrcpy is bundled in the Windows installer (no
separate download needed), and general cleanup.
