• The extension host could freeze (VS Code's "extension host is unresponsive") in a SQL or Cypher editor whose statement started with a run of block comments, for example a header of /* … */ lines: the check that a fragment holds only comments backtracked exponentially, and the statement highlight ran it on every cursor move. It is now a single linear pass.
• Moving the cursor no longer re-parses a document that did not change: statement ranges are cached per document version, and the run buttons only parse as far as their 300-statement limit. Dollar-quote detection no longer copies the rest of the text on each $.
