PageFlick tools 1.0.0 preview
Optional macOS CLI and stdio MCP companion for an installed, API-enabled PageFlick app. These tools are MIT licensed. The PageFlick app remains separately distributed and licensed; no app source or app bundle is included.
Compatibility preview
This release requires PageFlick's Settings → Automation → Local API, CLI and MCP setting. Compatibility with the currently listed public App Store 1.0 build has not been verified. Check for that setting before installing the tools. This companion does not upgrade the app or add the API. The first verified compatible public App Store version remains to be confirmed.
The companion targets the app's current Apple Silicon/macOS 27 requirements. Homebrew installs Python 3.15 automatically.
Install
brew install andrewjamesford/tap/pageflick-tools
pageflick --versionEnable the API in a compatible PageFlick build, copy its connection, then run pageflick pair --clipboard. Keep the app open. Pair again with --replace after restarting the app or rotating its connection key. See the repository README for commands, data/privacy notes and MCP setup.
Included
- Reading statistics, book metadata, JSON export, open-book and continue-reading CLI commands.
- Five equivalent MCP tools over stdio.
- Private local pairing-file handling and bounded loopback API requests.
- Standalone Python packaging and synthetic tests.
Validation and limits
All nine synthetic CLI/MCP tests passed on the Mac, including subprocess MCP and private export handling. The release archive was extracted and tested, and its wheel was installed and checked outside the source checkout. The initial extraction was also tested with Python 3.13, 3.14 and 3.15.
These checks do not certify live compatibility with a public App Store release. No real pairing data or reading library was used. The public-tap Homebrew installation, synthetic brew test, formula style check and brew audit --strict --online all passed. See the tap verification record.
