Input doesn't focus on first click using Angular 1.5.5 and ngAnimate 1.5.5

This is a followup to #1201.

To recap: the input does not get focused on the first click of the select when using ng-animate, in this case, with the bootstrap theme when there are no items in the select list.

Notice that both adding items to the select or changing the theme to selectize makes it work fine.
